They take old favorites, infuse international flavors, and inventive pairings to make a delicious and unique dining experience. Beautiful views from the outdoor seating area and pleasant ambiance. Good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere - go!

“Amazing breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

The breakfast buffet at the hotel is wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess immediately asks for your choice of beverage, which was always for us a delicious cappuccino. There are also all sorts of juices available. Two flavors of yogurt, one plain and one fruit flavored, bountiful fresh fruits, a selection of jams, dried fruits including figs, dates, apricots, nuts, eggs (hard boiled, scrambled with cheese, and fried)' bacon, hash browns, and last, but not least, a selection of freshly baked breads with all sorts of cheeses. No doubt I am forgetting a lot. This meal carried us through an entire day of hiking. Happily, in that we are staying a week, we can have this every day!

“Good portions of well-presented food in a great setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

This is a review of the restaurant of the Hotel Adler, in Adelboden. The hotel itself has another review thread.
We stayed (self catering) in Adelboden for a week in early June and were fantastically lucky with the weather that week. It became our habit to finish the day's walking with a beer on the Hotel terrace and twice during the week we also had dinner on the terrace.
There is a great view, although slightly marred by the sign and entrance to the underground Parking. It was quiet that week so getting a seat was no problem, although in summer high season I imagine it can get busy.
The service was very prompt and friendly. The menu is varied with the usual range of Swiss specialities as well as interesting salads and hot-stone meat dishes. Portions were generous. The prices in Switzerland always seem high for UK visitors bit this compared well with the other alternatives in town. I had the "bicycle-saddle" schnitzel - which was massive (see photo) and came with sauces and a huge salad. The free Wifi worked well.
Visitors might be aware that the local restaurants seem to have one or two days each week of "ruhetag" (rest days) when they are closed - maybe this changes in high season, but we were surprised to find the other nearby hotel restaurant (Baren) closed on a Thursday.
The Adler seemed the kind of place I would stay in and I would defintely make a point of eating and drinking there again if we revisit Adelboden in the future.
