We went there in July 13 and they had a traditional music band playing in front of the Restaurant. The restaurant is worth to see, like 100 years ago, very charming. We had Cheese Fondue, which was great. Service was ok, but delivered red instead of ordered white wine. Not so many wines offering, but at least the one they had was local. You can get also food-souvenirs like Meringue or Chees for a home fondue. Atmosphere is lovely.

It was a crowded Saturday evening and I think the staff was not prepared for it. Most people sat "outdoor" which is tables set in the middle of the street in front of the restaurant. Service was very slow but the staff did try.

As we did not speak French, the only person able to help us was the owner (we think he is the owner). A waitress came to take our order but once we tried in EN, she just walked to another table to take their order instead, rather than getting the owner to help us. When the owner did come by with the drinks, she mentioned to him that he had to help us due to language....

We were not thrilled with the fondu, not to our taste (fondu with mushrooms) but we did see a lady wipe her pot clean, so it is probably just us... nevertheless, the raclette was good. Overall the food was ... average, nothing to write home about, especially compared to the prices charged. When paying, check your bill, we were over charged for food not ordered. This can be an honest mistake due to the crowd I suppose...

What was strange was the "live entertainment", 2 Americans with cowboy hats singing country music, definitely not our cup of tea in the middle of Switzerland.

If you speak French, I am sure you will have a better experience. Oh, credit cards only for bills over 40CHF but wont be difficult to hit that mark.

Fondue dinner was wondrful. Price was not. Menu listed large fondue at $38. Large enough for four, but when the bill arrived it was $23 per person, or almost $100.

We wanted to have a cheese fondue in Switzerland and we chose the right place. The fondue was excellent as was the wine we ordered - a fondue for two was almost more than we could eat! Lots of atmosphere in a very interesting restuarant. The only downside to our evening was being seated at a table with three other people who were fairly loud and seemed to object to our being seated there. We did have a reservation, but the restaurant was full so table sharing was a necessity. Service was very good - our server checked often with us to see if we needed more bread and checked the flame under the fondue.

We went there late one night and they were nice enough to still have us though they were about to close. We ordered Fondue and the horse meat steak - delicious! The atmosphere is very rustic and nice. They even have a museum upstairs, which you can frequent for free - we did immediately after our meal. They didn't rush us to finish our food, which was nice (and I've been told it's a French thing). The only thing is that they charge for tap water. When we looked through the menu we found a small print that tells you that tap water is free but the service of bringing it to you is 5/6 francs - which is very expensive (especially given that there is natural spring water everywhere)! Having seen this before order, the waitress came over and asked what we wanted and in the end asked if we wanted tap water, we responded with a 'no', and she asked if we were sure, and we were - but at no instance did she tell us that it would be at a charge - we could have easily missed that one line print in the menu. We were thirsty, so we ordered sodas - they were the same price as tap water. They were kind of pushy about ordering drinks as well. In the menu it listed fondue with different prices (one for 2 people to share, and the other for 3+). We were two so we ordered the one for 2 people and the waitress told us that we couldn't, because we had to order the more expensive one for 3, because the one for 'two' was not for two people in fact, but for one. We gave in, didn't argue. Then a few minutes later she came back and said we could get the pot for 'two'. That was also a bit strange - they try to get you to spend more money...a bit annoying. Watch out for that. Other than that, it was great. You just have to be well informed before going.
