This is part of a series of reviews documenting our trip from Rome to Amsterdam where we stayed at 7 different properties as we traveled through Europe via Verona (Italy), Innsbruck (Austria), Leukerbad (Switzerland), the Black Forest (Germany), Durbuy (Belgium) with Rome and Amsterdam on either end. We experienced the good, the bad and the ugly on this trip with Ian's apartment at Les Naturelles being very good!
Ideally we wanted to stay in Interlaken but could not find anything to suit our needs so looked further afield and found Lekerbad and Les Naturelles. There were several listings for this complex across Trip Advisor but we are glad we found Ian's. His responses were quick and clear. Booking was easy and even after booking he was responsive to questions such as whether to drive over the Furkapass or take the car-transport train (take the pass, the drive is breathtaking if a little hairy!!).
We arrived after check-in had closed which was a little confusing as we were left a key and a property map in an envelope on the desk. We quickly figured out how to unlock the space-age, Bond movie garage and then got to the apartment through a maze of floors and elevators (making this clearer for late arrivals is our only nit). First impressions matter - clean, modern, through a door and then wow... The view out of the 5th floor balcony facing the massive mountains is absolutely priceless. we quickly settled in, sat on the balcony to be in awe before heading into town to eat.
The apartment is spacious, well thought out and super modern and clean. Ian has taken steps to make your stay easy such as organizing all manuals for the things like the thermostat (but tell the front desk you need heat), the dishwasher, oven etc. The main bedroom was very comfortable and our teenagers had there own convertible couches in the living area - which was large enough to leave them as beds during our stay. Wifi was fast and made figuring out our stay super easy - and we did a lot...
We went up the Gemmi cable car, drove back to Furkapass to see the glacier and Grimselpass to see mountain lakes. Went thru the mountains via car/train to visit St. Beatus caves near Interlaken and took in Chillon Castle on Lake Geneva. getting from A to B is not easy in Switzerland but Leukerbad turned out to be a great base. Eating in town is very expensive so we prepared most of our meals in the small but perfectly equipped kitchen.
Overall, the 3 days flew by but we loved every minute of it. We found the location amazing and the apartment super nice and great value for Switzerland. Absolutely would consider staying here again.

I spent a wonderful week with my husband and two teenage children in this very comfortable apartment in Leukerbad in August 2013. We absolutely loved this apartment - the setting, the fantastic views - it was spacious and had everything you needed for a family holiday. Leukerbad has a lovely atmosphere with some good restaurants and lovely walks. Also, the Burgerbad was great fun for all ages. The apartment was easy to find and the man in reception was very helpful. We were very sad to leave and wished we could stay longer.

Spent a very warm, comfortable and happy Christmas and New Year's Eve here. Leukerbad is a beautiful village in jaw-dropping settings, with great food and outdoor adventures on the doorstep. The apartment is spacious, well-equipped, quiet and perfectly warm. There was a thick blanket of snow on the slope right outside the window, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

Tucked away at the end of a valley and surrounded by mountains, Leukerbad sits in a perfectly idyllic position. We discovered this place in the late 90's and have been coming back ever since.
Les Naturelles is situated on a hillside at the south end of the town, in a very peaceful location, next to a wooded area. The view from here is spectacular.
The resort consists of five houses built in a pleasing swiss-chalet style, all inter-connected by indoor passage-ways. This is a really quality property. The apartments are light and very pleasant. Everything, from the bathrooms, windows, flooring, is well-made. The high standard of building also ensures perfect quiet.
We enjoy making our own meals, and found the kitchen had all we needed, including a dishwasher. Of course, there are also many good restaurants a short walk away, for those nights you'd rather eat out. The fondue at Walliserkanne is really excellent.
The area has fantastic hiking paths, suitable for all levels of fitness. Some ot the paths incorporate ladders, which adds a whole new dimension to hiking and climbing.
Stayed October 2012, travelled with family

This place is so quintessentially Swiss. The apartment is spacious and clean, with absolutely breathtaking views in each direction. The description the owners post is completely accurate. Given the efficient Swiss public transport system, getting there without a car is simple and painless. Picking up the key was easy (reception downstairs), together with a helpful pack on the whole area, and friendly reception staff who are always willing to help. There is a lot to do, be it hiking, skiing (cross-country and downhill), enjoying the natural baths that Leukerbad is renowned for, or wandering through the cute traditional town and enjoying the restaurants. I would also recommend going up the famous Gemmi walk in the summer, and even traversing the Gemmi Pass all the way to Kandersteg. There's a lovely alm half-way across, called Schwarenbach, which makes excellent cakes!
