“Great food !”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend's family and I was really pleasantly surprised by the place. The menu is short but everything looks great! There's a surprise menu that I wanted to test but it's only for the whole table so we didn't.
Service is great but the kitchen can be a little slow because they take extra-care on the dishes. The wait is worth it though!

I had two different kind of fishes, very tasty! The desserts are awesome!
The check's quite pricy but well deserved!

“Chef of the year 2012 by Gault&Millaud Switzerland”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

This restaurant might well be one of the best in the region of Yverdon and the whole north of Vaud. I have been there three times already, alway for lunch and for the "business menu".
The place looks like nothing special, but there is some nice view on the lake if you eat outside.
The food is really nice.
They have a very small choice, but everything is cooked with real care and they serve top quality products with an accent on local production whenever possible.
Today I had a beef (angus) cooked in teryiaki style which was absolutely glorious.
The desserts are great and they have a fine selection of wines too.
Prices are just a bit higher than the average restaurants around, but they are still quite reasonnable, especially when you look at the care given to the cooking.
Parking is easy, there is plenty of space.
I will try it in the evening one of these summer days, and I think you should do the same if you pass by.

“Do not let the building turn you away...inside is very good food!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

The building is not very enticing but plenty of parking. The Bistro/Cafe has a slightly "cool" atmosphere but very clean.
I ate in the cafe for lunch. The starters are from CHF 26 to 29 and the main courses are from 43 to 52 (this was a Lobster dish).
The daily "plat" was a soup and Tajine (CHF 18.50), which I did not feel like, so ordered 6 Oysters for starters (CHF 21). It was served with, not the regular dark bread slices, but a cut from a tart layered with thin slices of dark bread and a sligtly lemon-y butter in-between. Before that, the complimentary Mousse de Lantille accompagnee de Rillettes de Volaille, was larger than most amuse bouche's, and excellent.
Then I had a long title dish..."Moussline de Brochet de Nos Lacs et Divers Chou Crocant et Taglitelle a la Encre de Seiche et Emulsion Coraline"! (CHF43). It was nicely presented, not one of the small portions that are so popular today. There were 4 Brochets on the full plate. This was a very nicely balanced dish. All the flavours were in perfect harmony. The open wine, at CHF 4.70/dl, was excellent.
The daily dessert Mousse Pomme/Sauce Tartin (CHF 10) was also very good.
The service was correct and very helpful.

“Seafood specialist”
Reviewed March 9, 2012

Nice place with a view on the Jura. It consists of a bistro which serves plat du jour and more simple fare, and a gourmet restaurant (where we ate). The chef is from Brittany and specializes in fish and seafood. The day's menu is good value for money. The service was friendly but a bit unprofessional/unskilled. The entrees were very pleasant, fish cooked to perfection, desserts fantastic! The downside were the 2 slices of bread on a small plate that they put on the table. It's the kind of detail that pulls the whole impression down... unworthy of a restaurant of this class! A selection of breads/buns (preferably warm) to chose from is a must!
