My paragliding experience with Verbier Summits has been life changing. It's a personalized experience ran by 2 amazing brothers who make you feel like family. The atmosphere, attitudes and personal attention by each staff member was outstanding. I booked the 2 week course (EP to CP) and successfully completed the course receiving my Club Pilot License and decided to stay an extra week to gain more air time. The classroom theory lessons are very detailed and helped me to understand the sport more while I was in the air. If paragliding is something you want to pursue, then I highly recommend you book your course with Stu and Mike at Verbier Summits. I am not a flier. I don't want to be. I always tell people I like my feet on the ground (I love to hike). My husband flies so we thought this would be a perfect way for both of us to get what we want. And it was! The accommodations were wonderful, and we had fresh breakfast everyday. Fruit, bread, cheese, meats, muesli/granola, yogurt, orange juice, coffee/tea of choice (they make great lattes!) and hot pastries!

The rooms are just a couple of minutes (walking) to the gondola where you can choose your walking adventure of the day. There are plenty of difficulty levels and length of trails to choose. The people at the gondola ticket counter were very nice and helpful. They helped me decide what kind of ticket to purchase (I got the 6-day pass) and gave me plenty of maps and the time schedule, all that easily fit in a small pocket. Once on the hill there are trail markers painted along the trails and 'street signs' often enough I never felt like I was going the wrong way. Despite it being a popular place, there are plenty of trails that you will find peace and quiet. There was not a trail I would not recommend! Every one has its own beauty.

Despite me not wanting to fly I realized if ever I was going to take a tandem flight, this was the place to do it and the people to go with. After listening tithe staff and guests all week it was obvious Mike and Stu are professional, safe, have tons of experience, and know how to have fun in the air. And, it appears they treat staff like family. On the last day of our visit I decided to take my first tandem flight. I'm not sure words will describe how amazing it was. Mike was awesome at answering all my questions, showing me the sights and explaining everything. The take off and landing (the parts I was most nervous about) were so easy!

The views are amazing too! After hiking all week (and loving it!) I got a new perspective on the sights that made this valley even more special and spectacular!
