As an owner of a similarly service-based high end property, albeit hours away in Bali, I am extremely conscious of/picky about the finer details... and yet when a property gets it right I am their greatest supporter. This is absolutely the case with The Lodge. The nearly identical philosophies of multi-skilled staff for a small property is fascinating to see work in such a different locale, and the focus on customer service and good dining/bar are nearly identical.
The special level of care for us started when my husband could not arrive till 2200 after a huge day of meetings and travel..dinner was held up for us and our first night was made so special rather than at a hotel where we would have missed dinner and lost any day 1 experience of the lodge.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff that we were looked after by...I appreciate that in low season we did not meet the whole team of 13, however, if Hayley (front of house manager), Dan (key chef extraordinaire), Victoria (famous for her spa treatments and yet took me shopping for a very special book that included The Lodge that I thought was out of production), Julie (dining/bar/etc) and of course the GM Gareth (who we only met on our last morning, however, who makes this property work to this level..and has done since opening) are representative of the general experience, this is a very special property/experience.
We try to only stay at very special properties for our non-business weekends and holidays and we feel thrilled that we found this so near to Montreux where the next round of meetings are to be held.
I recommend it to anyone who appreciates subtle elegance/luxury..it has a feel of a family lodge and yet with the 5 star trimmings.
Thanks to the team for a wonderful short but extremely memorable/satisfying experience.

Room Tip: We were so spoiled with master suite 1, however, I inspected all rooms and room 4 is very special if...

Firstly, it was a pleasure to meet with you on your last morning albeit brief! Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, it’s always lovely to hear when we’re getting it right and we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your comments.

I know the team have already seen your review on here and were very happy to hear your comments so thank you on behalf of them too! We hope to welcome you both back to The Lodge again soon.

Best wishes

My husband and I have just returned from our first visit. What a holiday!. From the minute you step inside this large, beautifully furnished, clean lodge you feel relaxed and at home. The staff are very friendly, happy to help with all your needs and requests. They will drive you wherever you want to visit, or advise on the biking, hiking activities you might want to try. Food and drink is more than plentiful, with the highlight of the day, canapes and cocktails on the "deck", before a delicious freshly prepared three course dinner, described by the chef before eating. If you are looking for a pampered few days then this is the place. We will definately return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second or third floor to guarantee a view of the mountains.

What an amazing property. More like a beautiful private home!
The team here were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Gareth, Ashley, Hayley and George, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
From arranging a late lunch on our arrival, to the parasailing, picnic and mountain biking. Everyone was genuinely friendly and made us feel very much at home. A very special mention to Bam Bam. He is the most superb "host" ensuring we all got the chance to rub his tummy, pat and make a fuss of him equally. He also made sure he showed us the best mountain paths and when we got too hot, cooled us down with his own personal shower after his swim in the stream!!

Meals were delicious (all included) and at times it felt like we never stopped eating and drinking - strategically placed Pringles, chocolates, cakes and cookies too tempting and the giant bar of toblerone on our pillow as opposed to a single chocolate was a really nice touch!
Cowshed toiletries meant further pampering in the spacious bathroom.
We'd never been to the alps in the summer before, but having had asynchronous fun as we did we would definitely recommend it!
Hope to return one day and experience the wonderful service and hospitality all over again!
Thanks wonderful Team Lodge &
Bam Bam!
