Description: Accessible by sledge, ski, foot, bus or car, Le Rouge Restaurant & Après-Ski is nestled at the foot of the piste of the same name, with direct links to the main ski domain. With 8 winter seasons under its belt, Le Rouge has earned a reputation for being one of the trendiest ventures in Verbier. For some, Le Rouge is a ski-in ski-out destination for a tasty lunch on one of Verbier’s most beautiful panoramic terraces. For others, Le Rouge is the perfect venue for the complete après-ski experience, where writhing to the grooves of resident DJs and guest artists has become a “must do” for visitors and residents of Verbier alike. (Think Ibiza in the snow). For others still, the Le Rouge experience would not be complete without sharing an evening meal with friends, family or colleagues chosen from a refined menu inspired by local, seasonal produce, complimented by a bottle selected from Le Rouge’s ample wine cellar consisting of grand crus, Swiss collections and some little gems from lesser known estates. Combine these offers with a warm welcome from a young and vibrant team, a beautiful chalet-chic interior with roaring fires, sheepskin throws and time-honoured beams and it is understandable why people leave Le Rouge feeling like they have had a very special experience. A multi-faceted establishment with class and style but without any of the stuffiness, Le Rouge Restaurant & Après-ski is certainly a “must have” experience in Verbier.

Actually the only one with any atmosphere at all. Where do people go at the end of the day - back to hotels and chalets? Understandable I guess if they do afternoon teas (as ours did), but the post-shred banter in the bar over a vin chaud or two is the best bit of the day!!
Lots of space here - indoor with a wood fire, covered balcony for smokers, and I spotted the restaurant downstairs which looked lovely and cosy, but we never ate there. Live DJs on at apres time and the tunes were chilled and perfect. Friendly enough to chat with others, not the 'exclusive' feel we got at some of the other Verbier bars. Prices about average for the area; I'd have hung out here every evening if hadn't been on a tight budget.

The place is cool the bar is amazing but there is always a problem in the restaurant. Last time a child screamed for an hour before the manager had a word. I had complained 4 times by this point. Ruined the meal. They didn't compensate. There is also a reason why Veal carpaccio isn't more popular. On a good note its not as expensive as it used to be...

Whereas most people would come here at the end of the day to enjoy the very sunny terrace and excellent house DJ it can be good for lunch
I have just lunched there on a grey day at the debut of the season ,OK only 15 in the restaurant almost outnumbered by staff ,but that augers well for later on when many places have far too few staff and service can be very slow
I like the decor of the now trendy reclaimed wood(,from Poland?)and sheepskins, the staff are super friendly and speak mainly good english
I just had the menu du jour, excellant, afresh green salad with herbs i spotted mint, tarragon, chervil, and basil followed by a brandade of cod served in a kilner jar giving a modern twist to the presentation it was copious with a nice crust and piping hot
This together with 3 dcs of pinot noir and a double expresso came to 55chf not at all dear and i felt guilty for not leaving a tip! Will have to be generous next time
The menu is much improved on last year and wine is now sold in carafes so i won't have to neck a whole bottle

Nice food, pretty atmosphere - which varies according to the time of day you go during the season - it is definitely a meeting point apres ski and then a bar later at night. Like it up to a point, but I can see the appeal for a younger more energetic crowd!

I have a house nearby and have been several times. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and decor.... but the food just isn't good enough. My experience has been that steaks are frequently of poor quality or overcooked. Also sometimes the portions are very small - fine if you're watching your waistline, but not is a ski resort where you are burning energy all day and cold (you could fill up on their excellent bread).

Since the prices are very very high, it's not really possible to recommend. Shame really - I have tried to like it and it has menu options which are different to the Verbier norm. That said, it's always very busy because it's one of the hippest restaurants in town.
