I have been to many 4 + star hotels in the top resorts (Lech, Courchevel, Zermatt) in the Alps and the Nevai is definitely at the bottom of my list.
First of all the price. The most expensive 4 star hotel I've ever stayed in and it just didn't live up to my expectations.
We paid about 825Euros a night + breakfast for a family of 4 and we had to drag our suitcases ourselves to our room. Can't they afford a porter for this price???
The spa is a complete joke. You'd be lucky to fit 3 guests in it. Plunge pool wasn't working so no swimming for the kids.
The ski boot room is ridiculous small and uncomfortable, there were queues every morning to put your ski boots on.
Breakfast meant continental breakfast (good quality though), extra charges for cooked breakfast were extortionate.
The rooms were very basic (minimalistic is definitely the word!), but clean and functional.
The staff were all very friendly but not in a position to deal with complaints. Management and owners were nowhere to be seen. So complaints just didn't get resolved.
The restaurant is very good. Expensive, but good quality and good service.
Good ambience in the bar too. The design of the hotel is great as well.
My suggestion is: when you stay Verbier, go to the restaurant and a have a few drinks in the bar, but then go back to your chalet.

The Nevai needs to be understood in the context of Verbier. It's a fantastic resort, but definitely not a hotel resort. Most people stay in chalets and apartments (often their own) and there is not a stock of great hotel rooms. What there is, is very very expensive (like the resort), especially for the standard you get.

I have stayed at 3 of the best hotels in town and think the Nevai is the best. Not because it''s a great hotel, but because it's the best of the lot. But it is fine.

Plus points:
- rooms are large
- location is good
- staff are kind

Minus
- the "design" theme is a rather thin makeover, and unoriginal. But it is inoffensive
- service is a bit sloppy

The rooms would be great in a 3/4* Swiss hotel (which under the skin, this is). You can't help but be disappointed at these prices, and with the pretensions. But you aren't going to find better for this price in Verbier. And I wouldn't pay more elsewhere - the disappointment will only increase with the prices! There are lots of postings about Verbier complaining about how terrible it is because the hotels aren't as good as Zermatt etc. But this misses the point that "people don't do hotels" there.

The only negative about the Nevai is that it is about a 10-15 minute walk up hill to the Medran lift station, but with lockers available underneath at least that trudge doesn't have to be in ski boots. The bedrooms are simple but incredibly comfortable, with fabulous bed linen and wonderful bathrooms. It almost makes it hard to go out and enjoy everything Verbier has to offer. Had a very good steak in the restaurant one evening, and certainly compares well in value to the rest of Verbier (horrendously expensive if you are UK based). Breakfast is an amazing affair with absolutely everything on offer, though the hot breakfasts do take a while. If you are after nightlife location, then it cannot be faulted given it is literally above the Farm, though I wasn't disturbed by any noise. Don't miss the bar at the hotel for a more sedate drink.

We were very fortunate to receive an invite here, on a cancellation of a business weekend stay. From the moment you walk into the main foyer you can see this hotel oozes class, Danish style waiting lounge area, a sunken lounge area with a 4 meter gas fireplace adjacent to the cocktailbar and the very private red velvet lounge room. On the 2nd floor there is a larger bar area with ample space to relax and unwind, breakfast dining area is also on the 2nd floor. Our room was 221 ( on the 4th floor) and noted this was the best room on each floor to get (21) or (22) for optimum panoramic view. Rooms on each floor 18-23 were best away from the nightlife music (farmer club) situated in the same building. Staff drivers await to take you to the main verbier gondola 500 mtr away or the free public bus can take you if there's too much snow on the roads. Staff here are definately well trained and have that "extra polish" when speaking and attending to your needs in / around the hotel. The room we had was stylishly furnished with everything a couple needs when staying in Verbier.
This hotel is Definately 4 stars but it also comes to a budget that is on the higher side of the price scale.I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to those who enjoy the finer things in life..........I just hope the we are lucky enough to stay here for free again in the not too distant future.
