Stayed here in August 2012 and I have been trying to find something negative to say about it ever since! The only thing I can think of is that it is a long way from the nearest Waitrose. Otherwise everything was perfect. Superb location, good quality rooms, excellent staff, good breakfast and, important if you are staying for a few days, free train and cable car pass. We will probably stay again in 2013 or 2014.

The hotel Artemis is nicely located in the village of Saas-fee. About 5 min from the train station and 5 min from the Alpin express. The hotel can pick you up at the bus station with a little electrical car (saas fee is a car free village), which is very convenient. Very convenient as well is the ski local right next to the Alpin express. No need to carry your skiing gears every day. And you can warm up your ski shoes, which is a nice luxury.

The room of the hotels are nice: quite big, cosy (not very modern, but otherwise it would not be a mountain atmosphere). The bathroom is also nice but very small. The balcony with the view on the mountains is great. From the hotel you have access to the spa of the hotel nearby. The spa is nice, especially after a full daty skiing. The only thing that is a pity is that they don't offer you any bathrobe to go there. One guy of the reception told us to take our bathroom towel, but at the end we discovered that there are plenty of towels on site.

The breakfast is delicious: very tasty bread, homemade marmelade, fresh products from the area, all this with a nice view on the mountains.

Our stay there was almost perfect. The only problem was the staff that we did not find very helpful. And we did not expect this due to the other reviews. There were friendly, but often unable to answer our question. We asked them to book the bus for us for the way back, they answered :"no problem", even when we asked a second time if everything was all right, and at the bus station we discovered that absolutely no reservation at our name was here... It felt like no boss was around and all the employes were a bit lost... But we anyway enjoyed our stay and would still recommend this hotel.

We just returned from a ski weekend in Saas Fee, and stayed in a family room in hotel Artemis with our two teenage boys. The village itself is super cute with loads of boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. It is car free, which makes it extra pleasant to stroll around in.

We parked our car in the car park just outside the village on a Friday evening, and the Artemis staff picked us up extremely promptly in their little electric van, and took our ski gear to the heated locker they rent just beside the main gondola up to the slopes. At our request, they then dropped us off at an Italian restaurant and offered to bring the rest of our luggage with them back to the hotel. After a delicious meal, we strolled back to our hotel, checked in and found our luggage in our room. What service! Everybody was super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were a bit too hot for us, but this was quickly resolved by opening the door and letting some of that -16 degree air in! The beds were comfy and the bedding crisp and clean. No complaints at all.

The breakfast is simple but hearty and delicious, and just what you need before hitting the slopes. The produce is all sourced locally, and they will cook you eggs to order.

Upon checking out on Sunday morning, they stored our luggage for us while we skied a little longer, then picked us up from the gondola and brought us back to the hotel. We were even offered the use of a room and shower before we started on our way back home. When we were ready to leave, the staff brought us to the car park in their little electric vehicle.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, based on the impeccable service we received from start to finish. The hotel is a little further from the ski lifts than some, but the stroll through the town is very pleasant, particularly since your ski boots are stored for you right next to the gondola.

We can't wait to return!

This was our first trip to Saas Fee. - a beautiful village in stunning alpine scenery. The Hotel Artemis is centrally located and easy to access from either the car park or the bus station . (The hotel staff will collect guests from either on arrival - the village is car free, allowing only small electric vehicles)
We had a lovely double room with wonderful views of the mountains through large windows plus a balcony. We had a lovely interaction with Mr Peter Wirth, the owner, and his exceptionally pleasant son who were very helpful and friendly as were all the staff. The buffet breakfasts provided an excellent start to the days activities - skiing or walking in the mountains. We are planning to return soon. This was our first skiing holiday and the whole experience could not have been better. We can't recommend this hotel strongly enough.

Amazing stay. The hotel staff couldn't have been any more helpful!
Despite this hotel not being one of the closest to the main ski lift - Alpine Express - they have rented a locker room in the basement of Caesar Sports just outside the lift, meaning there's no need to carry your skis / snowboards / boots to the lifts every day from the hotel. This was incredibly convenient and is one of many examples of how the hotel thinks about the needs of its customers.
When we first arrived on Easter Saturday we were welcomed into the hotel and whilst checking in we were offered a choice of teas and coffees which are kept in the reception area all day for everyone to use freely whenever they wish.
We were checked in promptly on arrival and were invited to an Easter reception on the terrace of the hotel. Our room was huge, complete with 2 balconies one at each side of the room. We went out to the terrace downstairs and were greeted by the hotel staff and others who were staying there, and given a choice of champagne, bellini's and juices to drink and then shown to a chocolate fondue and fresh fruit. This was completely free of charge and organised by the hotel purely so those staying in the hotel could celebrate easter together. It was so welcoming we felt at home instantly.
As we arrived in the afternoon we did not have time to ski on the first day, however one of the staff offered to take our skis and boots to the locker room next to the lift so we did not have to carry them down. We then asked where to eat during our stay and he recommended a restaurant and booked a table for us. On the first day in the hotel all we had to do was rest, drink champagne and get ready for dinner. The hotel staff do everything without even being asked!
The hotel has an underground passage to Hotel Europa, where you can use the spa facilities they have free of charge. This was a luxury which we made the most of, we found it quiet and relaxing however BEWARE of naked women wandering around the sauna despite there being a designated "naked area" in a separate part of the spa. I also had a hot stone massage during my stay and whilst at first I thought it was expensive , I couldn't have wished for better, Denise was an amazing masseuse and worth every penny.
At the end of what can only be described as a fantastic stay we were driven back to the bus station and the staff all thanked us for our stay. The boys on reception and the cleaner were incredibly friendly and we couldn't have thanked them enough for all they did.
If you're looking for a hassle-free , luxurious holiday that gets everything right and ticks all the boxes in terms of customer service. Then Hotel Artemis is the place for you.

Room Tip: some of the rooms have 2 balconies meaning they are brighter, if I was to stay again I would ask for...

We just returned from a lovely week in SaasFee, staying at the Artemis Hotel. It's centrally located (to say the least), and the owner Peter, his son Nick and their friendly staff are the most gracious hosts. The front desk manager (also Peter) came and picked us up at the bus depot when we arrived. We got a nice room with a balcony view towards the mountians, it was spacious enough to both sleep in and sit and watch TV etc. Nice clean bathroom, and slippers and robes were available. It's very quiet in SaasFee at night so no noise from the streets which is nice when you're jet lagged and tired after skiing. The breakfast was wonderful with organic and home made jiuces, jams and yoghurt, local farms eggs prepared to taste every day and wonderful breads. We were offered rides and pick ups the whole time if we wanted it, and advise on what and where to go. The family is well aquainted in the village so dropping the hotel name helped with reservations and even discounts in some establishments. All in all we can't say enough for this lovely, yet unpretencious alpine hotel, it's just the way they should be! Thank you from 2 satisfied San Franciscans.
