“Seriously Good!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

We stayed at Chalet Hotel Ambassador during the week commencing 4 March 2013. It was excellent in every way. The rooms were clean, the food was fantastic and all the staff were friendly and keen to help in any way possible. Tristan, the hotel manager, was excellent. He was always smiling and always keen to help providing information about the lifts, slopes and Saas Fee generally. Victoria, Ski Total rep, was again excellent and organised private lessons for us with Alex from the Swiss Ski School who was also excellent. Tom the barman was again extremely informative about the slopes and general area and his cocktails were amazing. The food prepared by Ben and his team was the best chalet food we have ever consumed! The other staff Jono, Holly and Alex were all great. The chalet is 2 mins from the slopes and the apres ski bars. The holiday was fantastic and a huge contributing factor to this were the standards maintained in the chalet and the friendliness of the staff. We couldn't recommend this place enough.

Just back from a great week in Saas Fee where we stayed at the Chalet Hotel Ambassador. This holiday was booked late and on a budget so I did have some concerns about the quality. My fears were completely unfounded.

The hotel is in a perfect location very close to the nursery slopes and most of the lifts. Also close to most of the good apres bars and many restaurants (only needed one night in the week of course).

Rooms were, as expected, fairly basic but warm and clean with plenty of hot water. Where this hotel really scores is the attitude of the staff, the service levels and the quality of the catering. The breakfast offered three hot, freshly prepared options every morning as well as the usual cold options. Afternoon tea gave not only freshly made small pastries and cakes but also fresh soup. Early evening canapes and cocktails were followed by a four course dinner with excellent food.

Most evenings the chef appeared to speak to guests and make sure they were happy. He even prepared special dishes for some guests on request.

In summary, I really can't praise this place enough and would recommend to anyone thinking of going to Saas Fee.

Room Tip: Higher floors probably quieter.

I've just come back from skiing in Saas Fee with friends and family last week. The resort is quite small, which was perfect for "intermediate" skiiers like myself, but the hotel staff made the week even better. Tristan and Toria were incredibly helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make us all happy during our stay. Tommo got both the banter and the drinks flowing at the bar, Holly cleaned the rooms really well and kept us entertained with new funfacts every day, Jonno and Alex (x2) showed us such a good time during apres-ski and nights out, and Eugene the sous-chef and Neil (Ben) the head chef made delicious food and were happy to receive any feedback, positive (or negative), about the way it was cooked. All in all, a fantastic week, and I'd really recommend staying in this hotel for the awesome staff who dedicated themselves to making sure we had such a good time all week. Bring on Saas Fee 2k14...

We had a weeks skiing in Saas Fee in early January and felt I had to write a review of Hotel Ambassador. The hotel is in an ideal location right oppersite the slopes, in the middle of a very picturesque village. The hotels staff were all extremely attentive, polite and sociable. They really could not do enough for us. The hotel Manager, Tristan, assistant Manager, Bram, Jono, Hollie and Alex always had a smile for you. Tom the barman made some great cocktails! I have to say the Chef Ben was excellent, I don't think we have had such lovely food every night of a weeks holiday as we did at The Ambassador. From the afternoon tea to dinner at night, the food was amazing and delicious. Toria our rep was very informative and knew all the best places to go.
The rooms were very spacious with lots of cupboard space for your clothes etc. The use of the sauna and pool after a long hard days skiing was great. All in all I would say the Ambassador, the staff and the village made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.

Fantastic week skiing in Saas Fee - there was great access to the slopes and the village was surprisingly upbeat both during the day and at night. The staff were incredibly helpful and knew exactly which places were the best for a brilliant night out! A special thanks to Tommo the barman, Jonno, Alex x2, Tristan, Holly, Eugene and Toria for making our week in Saas Fee so much fun!

This is our 2nd trip to Saas Fee but our 1st staying in the Ambassador. We knew the location would be great for ease of access to the slopes and the village itself - you can't get much closer to the nursery slopes!
The hotel itself was far better than we expected - mostly due to the amazing staff. I know the reviews this season all say it but they are exceptional !

It's great to see young British workers (and Dutch too) who are truely professionals ! It made our holiday ! They all worked incredibly hard to make our stay very comfortable, nothing was too much trouble and the food was great. Ben, the Chef, and Dave too, made such an effort with the children's meals served at 5.30pm. Tristan, Bram and Tom were always very helpful and relaxed. Holly, Alex and Jonathan worked very hard serving and cleaning rooms to a very high standard. The boys in the kitchen must get a mention too for working so hard behind the scenes.. and Toria the Rep was great - just beware of sledging with her .. it's not for the faint-hearted!
We would definitely return to Saas Fee and the Ambassador... and can recommend excellent ski tuition with Optimum Snowsports - they were very professional and had small children's groups.
A fabulous holiday !!! and largely due to a fantastic SKI TOTAL team !! (plus great Snow !)

Room Tip: we had rooms 16 and 17 - both good rooms - and easily accessible on the 1st floor. No' 16 is lar...

I have just returned from a weeks skiing in Saas Fee and stayed at this chalet hotel. What a lovely place and fantastic staff. On arrival we were given afternoon tea and drinks and this set the scene for the whole holiday. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet the ski slopes were just across the small road and the food!!! fabulous. The hotel is run by a really happy team only young but very professional Toria was our rep and she organised quizzes in the evening and a lot of other events besides if you wanted to join in.The manager and bar staff were equally as good and nothing was too much trouble for any one. Every afternoon there was home made soups and cakes tea coffee or hot chocolate and the at every evening meal there was wine flowing freely and as a pre course to the meal aperetif s and cocktails were served every evening Ben the young chef and his team at this chalet hotel are outstanding The meals were excellent his expertise is unquestionable along with his team.they came into the bar and also he came out into the dining room to make sure we had enjoyed our meals on more than one occasion and he also acted on any requests. I just want to say thank you to all the staff, it was my daughter inlaws first time on the slopes or in a ski resort and she can not wait to return.Thank you to everyone in this hotel you made our stay wonderful in a lovely resort.
