Description: La Ferme is as much a part of Saas-Fee as the Leaning Tower is part of Pisa. Inside, it is decorated in traditional style, typical of the region, and you'll find a warm, cosy atmosphere where every detail has been thought about. Whether you come for coffee and a nice chat, an aperitif with friends or an elegant dinner, the young team at "La Ferme" will tempt you with simple but traditional fare or something truly special and delicious. Typical specialities of the Valais region Meat specialities - some old favourites and some unusual novelties Fondue Chinoise with homemade sauces - eat as much as you like On our sunshine terrace with its wonderful views of the glacier and the comings and goings on the village promenade, we serve a freshly prepared 3-course lunch every day or an a la carte menu to cater for larger or smaller appetites.

Charming and rustic feel to this local restaurant that serves a good range of local Swiss and international food. Friendly welcome and good service

“Mediocre food, mediocre service, great atmosphere!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2011

We read the reviews but still chose to dine at La Ferme. The setting and atmosphere are wonderfully unique! Most of the menu was in 3 languages, which was great, but there was an entire section in German and French only, including the desserts. Strange! We asked the waiter to describe some of the items, she couldn't....she said she'd send the chef to explain...he didn't come...another waiter came to the table and attempted to describe items. We just ordered what we knew we were getting. The food was just...okay!
The hotel was great. Very clean, traditional but with modern accommodations! This might be the cleanest hotel I've stayed in....and I manage a b&b!!!

“A rip-off: charged 5 francs for a carafe of tap water to go with our wine”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2011

Unremarkable food - typical hearty Swiss fare - in a cosy and romantic rustic setting with reasonably attentive service. However, we were charged 5 Swiss Francs for a carafe of tap water we ordered alongside our wine: we did query this and were told the charge was correct. This was both an insult and a rip-off. Also, we note that the boards outside the restaurant quote prices in Euros converting at an out-of-date rate of 1.4 Euros/Franc (even though this rate is stated in smaller letters at the bottom). Naughty.

“Try to avoid”

The service at the restaurant is as bad as it can get.
The waiter seemed like he needs a long break at a detention center

“excellent value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2011

This Restaurant (part of a Hotel) incl. outdoor seating looks quite upmarket and many items on the menu are quite expensive. But they also offer a 3 course meal with about 5 starters, 5 main courses and 5 desserts to choose from at a very reasonable price of around 30 Swiss Francs. We have chosen various meals out of this selection on various days and it all was excellent; it all comes with very nice fresh bread and butter. All drinks are reasonably priced, i.e. similar prices as in other Restaurants in this village.
