We popped in after calling 45 mins in advance for a table. The hike up the hill was beautiful in the falling snow and helped to work up our appetite. The setting is idyllic. We sat upstairs in a cozy candlelit corner watching the snow fly past the wooden window as we enjoyed efficient and friendly service from our waitress. The food was wonderful and the menu more varied than a lot of the other places in town. The lamb in an olive crust was the best lamb we had ever tasted! We’d definitely return.

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight at the Schaeferstube! The atmosphere is unique, traditional and super cosy. The staff is helpful and friendly and most of all, the food is amazing! I would definitely recommend this place, make sure you make reservations well in advance.
We will definitely be back!

On our only experience, it is right up there with the likes of Findlerhof and Chez Vrony in Zermatt. Very good service, excellent food, and the house red a mixture of cabernet and merlot, was far superior to the ubiquitous dole! Menu and prices you can find online. As with all other reviews, it is a hike up there as it is on the edge of town, and high up. Take your time! Do try.

It's a bit of a hike up the hill to get to this restaurant but well worth it. Friendly helpful service, great range of food and a cosy relaxed atmosphere. The lamb dishes and the rosti were especially good.
It's worth booking before you travel to ensure that you get a table.

we have been in this restaurant twice . It is necessary to take in to account that you have to walk from the city center about 10 minutes or take a taxi. Food was nice .
