Stayed here for several nights on a business trip, it’s the usual hotel for visitors to the company site and everyone seemed happy with it. Located in the northern Zurich suburb of Kloten close to the airport.

The ground floor has a bar, bar area, sitting area with a couple of PCs (need to pay) and restaurant that doubles as breakfast. There is a small gym (about 5 pieces) on the top floor. Rooms are standard fayre, clean and modern, well equipped with flat screen TV, air con (I think – control on the wall but never tried it), wired internet connection, complementary bottle of water each day, the bathroom is quite nice with lots of glass and large mirrors. There is a complementary shuttle from/to the airport.

The train station is at the back of the hotel but just about every room faces the front so not a problem. Kloten looks to be a nice Swiss town, a couple of shops and restaurants close by with a wider choice in the centre about 10 minutes walk away. Trains run regularly to Zurich taking about 15 minutes, you can buy day tickets at the hotel for about 10 euros, remember to stamp the date on them using the machine on the platform.

Only had a fleeting look at Zurich but looks to be an interesting old city with a European cosmopolitan flair – lots of people eating/drinking outdoors, trams rattling around, boats running up and down the river, trendy shops, lots of restaurants.

To summarise, a nice hotel in a nice town close to the wonderful city of Zurich. Just one final note, Switzerland is a little expensive, prices are often quoted in Swiss francs, euros and sometimes GBP but I think the rate used is a little optimistic.

The hotel is beautifully designed, with free carparking, restaurant, bar, lifts, and large bedrooms with modern bathrooms. We loved the Mondrian features.

The bedroom window facing the afternoon sun had shutters operated by a switch which kept the room cool. At night, we could leave the window open for fresh air, while the shutters provided security. There was free internet at a good-sized desk in our room. The daily bottle of mineral water, and the tea and coffee making facilities (something lacking in most of the hotels we stayed at) were very much appreciated.

We were given complimentary vouchers for a basic breakfast, which was an unexpected bonus.

There were extra thoughtful features such as an ironing room on each floor, shoe cleaner, weighing scales from Reception to check your luggage weight. There were display cases of souveniers, from which we bought some kids watches for our grandchildren.

The hotel is situated right next to the Kloten railway station, yet our room was very quiet. It was very convenient for a quick 15 minutes ride into Zurich city.

The free shuttle bus was invaluable for taking us to the airport for our flight home. The driver was very helpful and courteous, going out of his way to explain exactly how to get to find our departure check-in.

The only drawback during our two nights’ stay was the occasional smell of cigarette smoke which was apparently allowed in certain rooms on the fourth floor. Our room was a non-smoking room on the fourth floor.

Room Tip: Non-smokers should ask for a room on a non-smoking floor.

If you're looking for a airport hotel, the Hotel Allegra one is a great choice. I did not like paying for wireless (if you're reading this, wireless should be free at an airport hotel), but the room was nice, large, modern...and it was a nice place to stay before the flight home.

After two weeks traveling in Switzerland, we were pleasantly delighted by the sight of this industrial-looking building just next to the Kloten train station (along the S7 line). It is certainly one of the cleanest, spacious and comfortable place (not to mention, best priced). While it is fashioned along the line of German efficiency for business travelers or transit-stopover visitors, it is also ideal for family with young children and/or elderly. Checking-in was a pleasant experience for us as we were served by a friendly gentleman who took the time to brief us on what's available in the hotel and around Kloten vicinity, what are the train timings, among others.
While the room reminds one of being in an IKEA showroom, the beds are surprisingly comfortable, the bathroom is spotless and the range of TV channels are wide. It is unfortunate that breakfast is not included as part of the reservation. We had some misunderstanding with the lady 'wo-manning' the breakfast counter who kept insisting to see our breakfast card even though I have 'booked' the breakfast at the frontdesk the night earlier. This is especially if one is a non-German speaker and an Asian. Another downside is the need to pay for Wi-fi connection which is rather uncommon when compared to most places we stayed in Switzerland.
Nevertheless, it's certainly worth coming back if one needs a budget accommodation and doesnt mind the rumble of the passing train every 30mins.

Chose this airport hotel because of its location just 3-4 min walk to the Kloten station and it’s just 10-15 min by bus to the airport, We had an 8 day swiss pass and the complementary airport shuttle provided by hotel on our 9 th day just fit in. The 15 min train ride from Kloten to Zurich HB (2 every hr to and fro) was convenient.

Modern hotel with friendly and helpful reception
Room and bathroom clean, spacious and well maintained.
With no air cond(only heating) the heat of summer may not be bearable, otherwise defintely recommended.
Continental breakfast (served from 5am) was OK and we did not opt for an upgrade to a buffet for an extra 9 chf. The waiter on our 2nd and 3rd morning was grumpy with an unwilkommen attitude.

I highly recommend this hotel for travelers looking for something near the airport. The shuttle service was efficient and complimentary. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Zurich Airport is only a few minutes away.
