My family stayed here (3 of us - one a 13 year old) for a couple of days over Christmas. It is a beautiful facility that was totally redone a few years ago and they did a great job. The room we stayed in had a small balcony and great view of the lake. And even though it was cold and rainy most of the time we were there, the property has a warm and cozy atmosphere and we enjoyed hanging out in the "living room" type areas on the main level drinking latte's or wine before dinner. They helped us find other restaurants to try but their food was very good as well. All the people were friendly - spoke good English- and didn't make you feel guilty that you didn't speak French!!

The only downside was a rather small fitness area - one treadmill, one elliptical and a stationary bike. But the rest of the spa was nice with steam, dry sauna and I had a very good massage.

So if you are looking for a smaller, quaint yet luxurious spot on Lake Geneva - this is a great choice.

This hotel treat you like an emperor, you feel the luxury touch from the moment that you enter the hotel till the last moment when you leave the hotel; it was fascinating even in every single tiny detail; this hotel was beyond my expectation..

This hotel is completely renovated and stunningly beautiful! The food was delicious, the service like the Four Seasons and the location was perfect! This is right by the lake and the views of the mountains reflecting on the water is superb! I would return.

I loved this hotel! From the decor to the service and the food. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a lovely time. It is right by the lake and the view is spectacular! The steam room is wonderful and I only have nice things to say.

Room Tip: Room with a view, facing the lake!

We spent 2 weeks in Switzerland staying in 4 and 5 star hotels from Geneva to St Moritz. Hotel du Lac is a 5 star hotel. The service is superb, the beds are comfortable, the spa is great, the parking is right next to the hotel, the cleanliness is exceptional. Everything is situated for your comfort. Unfortunately, we felt ambushed by the 2 night charges for the nuts and cookies that were not part of the minibar, but turned out to be for a fee. The 3 small jars of nuts and some cookies were on the opposite side of the room on a small table with the complimentary water and chocolates and some bath stuff. How in the world were we supposed to know that on the same table some stuff was part of the minibar and some complimentary? We do not read French. In all the other hotels in Switzerland that we stayed the food items that are not part of the actual minibar were complimentary. However, Hotel du Lac charged us 80 CHF for the 6 small jars of nuts. I feel it was a trick to nickel and dime us. A 5 star hotel that is so dedicated to the comfort of their guests should not have these practices. The funny part is that they even gave us a tour of the room when we arrived and did not mention anything related to the additional charges will be incurred for some items, but not all items on the table.
