“Pricey, but insightfully entertaining”

The museum and galleries really give you insight to HR Gieger creativity. Not very informative about humans his career, but great to see his works.

“For the Alien Fans the place to stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

For the Fans of Alien films, the place to visit and learn more about how all was created ...
After the visit, please stop at the bar opposite to the museum to enjoy the ambiente ...
Really surprising to find it in the middle of a middle age castle site ...

“Alien, Species and Much More...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013

The museum is centered in H R Giger's art and his work as visual concept creator for movies like "Alien", "Species", "Dune", etc, but the museum is much more than this. There we can see his seminal works too.
Only be aware that the works have a strong sexual content, subtle and explicite.

“Different”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

An unusual museum- definitely not appropriate for children. The pictures/ sculptures are beautifully drawn/ made, but the subject matter is not child-friendly. Having said that, we did find the pictures beautifully drawn & could appreciate the artist's ability. Our favourite was a table & chairs of "bones". Do go into the associated cafe (decorated with an alien theme & chairs) for an excellent hand-made gruyere cheese pie. Photos of the museum were not allowed (free lockers are provided) and the cafe says photos ONLY if you are a customer (fair enough).

“Interesting... but definitely not for kids”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

I've never actually seen an Alien movie but we had time so we decided to visit the museum. The kids were fascinated by the artworks just outside the museum so we figured they'd be alright. We all enjoyed the first room and there was a room that was for adults only, which they did not visit. What I didn't expect was the sexually explicit nature of some of the artwork in the remaining portion of the museum. Some things not of this nature were very cool but it reached a point where I would make the children enter with closed eyes until I had a chance to see what was there to determine if they could open their eyes. If the museum had arranged things such that the sexually explicit artwork was all contained in one room, it would be much more enjoyable to visit with children. The museum is well done though. I'm sure its fascinating for those who are fans.
