We stopped in for lunch while taking the Chocolate train. Since we were making this our big meal for the day we ordered the raclette, cheese fondue and the fondue chinoise for four of us. The meal itself was quite a bit and very good (especially the raclette). We worked our way through it and they came back with more and more. I have a feeling we could still be there eating away! No surprise that the cheese items were the best, I mean it is Gruyeres.

Stopped there on a visit to Gruyeres a few weeks ago.
I was actually attracted inside by their outside menu proposing all sorts of cheese-related dishes ...
Specifically, I went for the "Salade du Moléson", which was a beautiful mixed salad with cured dried meat and a "tomme poelee" on top ...
Absolutely gorgeous and probably a million calories but who cares when it's so good ?
Service was good, if a litle slow but the restaurant was fully packed so it was fine.
Would definitely recommend it.

Very simple, relaxed atmosphere, with a reassuring number of locals choosing to eat here. We had a lovely cheese fondue served with pickled gherkins and boiled potatoes. One of us had the croute de fromage which was hearty, but slightly disappointed that it was made with cheese sauce, rather than cheese. There was more than enough food there for all of us to feel sufficiently over fed and I would definitely recommend a visit for the fondue alone!

If you are into fondue, then you should travel to Gruyères. One of the best restaurants is the Hôtel de Ville, where they offer an all you can eat Fondue for about 25 CHF, which is very reasonable for Switzerland. The decoration is typically Swiss, and the service is good. Don't forget to try the meringues with cream.

We stopped for lunch here on a visit to Gruyères. Having had fondue in Geneva, we wanted to try the raclette which is offered in unlimited quantoity and comes in a special contraption which looks quite medieval. It is served with Boiled potatoes, pickled gherkins and pickled pearled onions. Don't expect fast efficient service in a place like this.

Very nice... Although I guess you can have the same anywhere and it would be exactly the same!
