My mate and I booked this hotel for a last minute ski trip to Laax, Flims, Falera in Feb-14. We stayed in one of the out-chalets not attached to the main property. The room was advertised as a double but being clever Swiss, the double bed splits into two singles so was no bother for us. The chalet is basically a studio apartment with a large living room / bedroom with TV, sofas, wardrobe etc as well as a small kitchen area adjoining a small toilet / shower room. We made use of the fridge but did not bother cooking having gone for the (very cheap really) half board option.
The room itself is quiet, albeit cold not receiving a lot of sunshine – don’t turn all the heaters on at once with the TV, it blows the fuse! Woops.
If anyone has stayed in Swiss ski towns close to Zurich before, they’ll know that finding food on a Saturday or Sunday night can be a stretch and you usually end up eating Pizza or eating in some random hotel. We chose to cut out this effort and default for whatever was on offer at the Hotel via half board. It is a four / five course meal with buffet salad, soup, small fish dish, meat main course and dessert. The meal is not going to set your world on fire as the best meal you’ve ever had, but then...My mate and I booked this hotel for a last minute ski trip to Laax, Flims, Falera in Feb-14. The resto dinner is fresh, well cooked, presented well and served with a flourish. We did not bother with wine so cannot comment.
We made use of the Spa facilities and they are excellent. Plenty of treatment rooms if you need a massage or sports physio as well.
Parking was available. We drove to the Flims car park each day so did not bother with the hotel shuttle. Parking per day was CHF9.60 so not that much for the privilege. The hotel does run a relatively frequent shuttle to and from the Flims main station, seems a good idea actually.
Service was very good in general with very welcoming and polite hosts - very Swiss!More
