I had 'croute jambon + oeuf'. on a warm sunny day sitting on the terrace. Had a large beer to accompany my lunch. Total CHFr 28.50 {2013}
Quiet area of town by the rail station and cable car.Ideal for walkers.
Enjoyed my meal which was a large portion and very tasty.
If in Champery again I will eat here

We stopped by this place after a day of skiing as it's right next to cable car station - what a mistake! After we went in to the restaurant, we sat down at a table. No one came and no one seems to care that some customers have just arrived (the restaurant was not busy either!). Some time later, a waitress walked past our table to serve the table behind us. Then, as she finished giving the other table their food, we looked at her while she's walking back past our table. Instead of saying hi and giving us a menu or asking us what we would like to drink, she spoke in French very rudely and fast that "she does not service this table!" and walked right away. Now, I understand that they might have different people serving different tables, but the way she's acted is completely not acceptable. Eventually, we got a pizza, and food is alright, nothing special. Given the lots of other options in Champery, we will never go back to this place!

The Gueullhi is located right next to the cable car and the train station which makes it a likely spot to go to, if you come down to champery from a day of skying or hiking. Unfortunately this is a mistake.

As the menu feature a lot of non-alpine food we went there to avoid the omni-present raclette and fondue. We started with a salad from the salad buffet that turned out to be a buffet consisting mainly of canned vegetables. Then as a main dish we had gambas in red thai curry (Gambas au curry rouge) and pasta with sundried tomatoes (Nouillettes Napoli). The gambas themselves where alright, but the curry sauce was nothing but some coconut milk mixed with cheap red curry paste. No vegetables, no nothing added. The dish was accompanied by some rice, which tasted of nothing. The pasta itself was also not bad quality, but the composition of the "sauce" was not pleasent and had an artifical taste.
The service wass unprofessional. The waitress did not let us try the wine first to accept it, she reached across the table and she dropped some of the cutlery. It was sad to see, that she did not make any effort at all to make us feel comfortable. The fact, that we were nearly on our own in the restaurant did not help to improve the dining experience. Seems, like the other guests in Champery new better than us.
