The hotel overlooks the harbour and the lake, and you certainly pay for the location.
The service and facilities are very good and the rooms very spacious and comfortable.
One curious thing though was that whilst there is air conditioning in the room, it won't go below 22C. The hotel claimed that this is a German regulation, but I could not find anyhting about it, and in another hotel on our trip, the air con didn't have the same restriction. But if you want a cool room, it is not possible here.
We also ate in the restaurant. The service and surroundings are very good, but the food was distinctly ordinary. You can get better and cheaper elsewhere.
Whilst there is nothing the hotel can do, there are beggars and buskers in the streets outside. Not really a problem, apart from one busker, who was truly awful, and certainly enough to keep me away from considering eating in any of the restaurants on the front within earshot.More
