“not serious”

Costanoroeste Surf School
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Room with view on kitchen but the flat was nice. Sometimes no running water according to other flatmates. Unable to get kite surf lessons because of wind or because the school is close for the local annual fiesta which I did not about: thanks to booking agency zocoboarding. Misunderstandings with the guy in charge. I complained sort of, about the lack of the services I paid for, and now I am told to get out of the place because of rudeness. Unfortunately, if you have someone who does not listen... like the booking agent told me there is 2 sides of a story, but he does not want to listen.

If you like to learn surfing, Costanoreste will be your choice. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service excellent and the teachers care about anything. You get even a sandwich and enough to drink for the break.
The location is really very beautiful. Once you got familiar with this wild and windy island you'll fall in love with it. Away from those thousands of mass-tourists you'll find a very charming and beautiful place with a large beach. Enjoy it!

Famara bay is a beautiful sleepy small town=total tranquillity, with the added bonus of having miles of sandy beach thus being a great location to learn/continue to kite surf. The staff at Costanoroeste school were brilliant, taking you step by step through the various aspects of learning to kite, ensuring your safety & having a laugh at the same time. If you want to learn/improve or hire kit, I'd highly recommend them.

We spent 12 wonderful days in Famara with Santi and the others! I haven't had any kite lessons before but our instructors Raul and Alex were so friendly and supportive... even if it sometimes doesn't work straightaway ;-). Hope to see you guys some day again when i'll come back!
