We stayed here for just one night whilst on a cycling route, in hindsight I would have preferred to stay in one of the quieter villages nearby. The hotel seems to attract large tour groups; it lacks charm and atmosphere. Our room was large with a baclony overlooking the river, which was nice, but Cochem is quite a tourist hotspot and from our room we could hear the loud music being played at a bar across the river, so we kept the door shut. Beds are quite hard but otherwise OK. Air-conditioning appeared to be controlled externally, we couldn't turn it on or off; at various times, including throughout the night, it turned itself on and off. The hotel also had live music after the evening buffet (19.50 euros pp), which seemed to be enjoyed by the large number of older guests in the hotel who held an impromptu 'tea-dance' in the dining hall aisles, but it wasn't for us. We chose to eat out and found lots of bars/cafes to choose from, all reasonably priced; our meal, inlcuding beer and wine cost only 38euros for both of us. The hotel is just across the river from the main part of town, a brisk 5 minute walk gets you there. Breakfast was fine, good selection of breads and cold meats, limited selection of cereals, yogurt and hot options.
