Frau Albers could be your wife or your mother, you are certainly treated as such by her. The atmosphere is very intimate and you feel like you are at home. Both the hotel and the way to get serviced seems as if one has moved in with Frau Albers, she talks a lot with his guests (preferably in German) and help with any questions you may have on his vacation. Room Standard is fairly ok, but seemed a little worn. There may be noise from the street between seven and half past seven in the morning. The breakfast is typsik German and served in the living room. The location is great for walking in the city and its (few) sights but expect to walk a long way from the parking garage in the city which incidentally is quite expensive. Just opposite the basement there is a small "weinstube" a good place to finish before going to bed. Highly recommended for people who want to explore this beautiful area and its culture.

The guest house is located in the heart of the city and has access for all city facilities. The rooms are big and clean. The Landlord hosted us very nice. Breakfast is rich and tastety.
Disadvantges - No WiFi and limited free parking.
In general, highly recommended.

We were there two years ago, and decided to go again to go to Cochem for the Dampfspectakel (Easter steam railway fair). We went back to Frau Albers and were not disappointed. She is very welcoming and for the English visitor with little German you might be concerned, but with a lot of smiles and sign language all problms are overcome. Cochem by the way is in the middle of a great wine producing area (and the beers are not bad either). Breakfast is a banquet.

I booked this B and B based on the previous Trip Advisor review and because I had trouble finding a hotel of my choice in Cochem. I tried at least 3 other places that were fully booked before finding a room at the Albers for myself and my two children. We chose Cochem in order to be close to the Formula 1 race at the Nurburgring.
I paid 115 euros per night for a very regular room that slept 3 (it was actually two small bedrooms and one very small bath)
The B and B was clean and the people were very nice. Staying here is like staying in someone's home (I almost always prefer hotels to B and Bs for this reason) and the kitshy breakfast room with all the hausfrau's trinkets in it was clean but was seriously dated and lacked charm. The buffet was very limited (I was disappointed) but the service was very friendly. These are lovely people, but I felt no value in this booking. There was no hair dryer, no wash cloths (standard fare for these small places in Germany) and shockingly NO SOAP. Come on, you can put out a small pat of soap for $170 per night- please!!!! We washed our hands with shampoo that we brought (or course no toiletries provided, no hair dryer, no frills) . The first day there was also NO HOT WATER and my daughter took a cold shower. No a/c- so we fortunately did not need it as it was cool during our stay. The first night I used my earplugs as the crowd was so loud (past midnight) at the little winery across the street. This was the ONLY place that was rocking that late in Cochem. We actually went there for dinner our second night and LOVED it!
I found a MUCH better value the next night at the Radisson in Karlsruhe for lower price with 5-star amenities.
Loved Cochem- a beautiful, chaming picturesque town, but unless you get a much better rate I would stay elsewhere. There seems to be no lack of hotels or B and Bs in Cochem.
