our stay was in the smallest room, last room all others where occupied
room was clean but to small, no aircondition therfore very warm the first two days due to summer
Spa of this hotel is perfect, you never expect this "Top"

Room tip: do not book the smallest room, a suit is perfect book the room in the main house not on the outside property

The location is amazing too bad the spa facilities aren't. We attempted to book spa services but few available for our 4 night stay. We were not able to get pedicures or manicures or massages. We could not book facials other than very basic facial. This was disappointing since it is a spa and boast huge menu of services available. Sad none were though.

Pool areas are nice but small and crowded. I did like the Panorama pool and sauna area nice but never could find the steam rooms or hot tub. I think at check in you should be given a map or tour of the facilities. Many staff do not speak English especially in spa area so hard to communicate. The staff is not friendly even in reception area and spa area.

The gym area and equipment was a total disappointment few treadmills and weight machine not up to par. . We got up early to work out but found the doors locked with no access till 8 am. It would be nice to work out, hike, and take an early morning swim but the facilities are all locked down and not available for the early riser which is very disappointing. The advertising says there is fitness classes but we could not find the class time or area to attend. The spa area offers no cool drinks with services not even lemon water or tea....4 ounce of apple juice cost 2 Euros.

The breakfast buffet is good with a great selection of foods but wish menu and place cards by food would have some English. Restaurant closes too EARLY by the time you bike or hike and get back in evening restaurant closed and there is no food to be had. They will not seat you after 8:30 at night and close promptly at 9 pm You have to have reservations for evening meal and there are no apologies if you are hungry without one. No accommodation very rigid for a vacation spot. The literature says 4 restaurants although I saw only one, if there are 4 perhaps one should be open late with limited menu.

The area around spa was great with biking trails and hiking areas but hotel has very poor map with the designated trails so you are on your own to figure it out. The trails are amazing though if you hike or bike because can go through the vineyards and see the river and Bernkastle below. Trails are numbered and rated by difficulty.

Berncastle Kies is nearby with great riverfront shops and restaurants. The castles were closed for renovation. If I were to return would stay in Bernkastle and bike, hike, kayak, and rent a vrbo or cheaper hotel. The area is gorgeous and so relaxing.

This place could be phenomenal but has not grown into its potential. It was very sterile and clinic rehab like rather than being a spa/resort. Services limited with unavailability and unenthusiastic employees. I wanted it to be great, it wasn't aweful but just good. There are better in Germany, but this location great. Maybe they will improve and add staff for the spa services so they provide what they advertise as available.

Room tip: Breakfast buffett is good skip dinner go to Bernkastle and have a good meal.

The hotel has potential it has good facilities, the spa is good but not the best I have been to in Germany, it is also in a good position and is really clean and well maintained but the staff just seemed to not be happy and stressed. The reception staff were friendly but the restaurant and bar area just seemed chaotic we sat in the bar before dinner and as we waited 15 minutes and didn't get our drinks we went into eat just as the drinks arrived. The food for the evening meal also took a long time and when it came we had to send it back. I think it was just our luck everyone else seemed happy enough . It can happen! However everything was redeeemed with breakfast which was really very good the choice was as good as a five star hotel. In terms of the rooms we booked last minute and got a very small room for one night it was ok but for longer I would recommend paying extra for a bigger room. Overall good but for me the staff make a hotel and they just did not come across as happy and that then makes the atmosphere of a hotel in my view "off"

Room tip: Don't book the basic rooms very small

Wife and i spent a few days at the hotel. Since the smaller rooms were booked, we got a suite. Very nice and spacious with a steam bath and whirlpool bathtub in the room. Wellness area was awesome...saunas and whirlpools, along with relaxing areas are available throughout the hotel spa area. Meals were good...breakfast was great, but my wife was not overjoyed with the dinners...not a lot of flavor for her taste, veggies could have been cooked a little longer...just did not meet her expectations for a hotel of this class. My dinner dishes were excellent, but we have different tastes sometimes (what married couples don't?). Overall, a very relaxing time well spent.

Such a wonderful location, great facilities, but staff not dynamic. Quite hands-off for a massage and therapy hotel. Felt like a clinic for rehabs rather than an indulgent, fun, privileged place. Overpriced. Staff got our therapy session times mixed up, Felt rushed.

Room tip: Do not expect superior quality the more you pay for a room - we paid extra but overlooked a construction site. Next to road with traffic.
