On September 2012 we spent three nights at the Dom Hotel in Worms. There is not much of good that you can say about this place. Our room was very small, the bathroom was closet-size and not well supplied with toiletries, the towels were very thin, the hallways are essentially empty, the front desk personel was dry and distant, and there is nothing to make you feel comfortable or welcomed. However, the breakfast buffet was better than the rest of the hotel, it was colorful, well stocked with good ingredients, and the service people tried to keep the tables clean and uncrowded by promptly removing plates and cups after use.

Other positives were the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel's excellent location. But if you visit Worms perhaps you can find better options. Also, it was somewhat surprising to see that in some posters, I remember one in the elevator, the Dom Hotel did appear with a four star category. This was certainbly not the case, or perhaps the four stars were related to something other than category or rating.

Worms is a charming city, enjoy it if you can visit, but try to stay aa better hotel.

Overall, I would say the hotel was really nice. The furnishings were not terribly outdated. The closet space was ample. The little sofa was a nice added touch. The television was broken which was annoying. A continental breakfast is included with your stay and it is really good. The desk clerk speaks English so that was helpful.

The location of this hotel is perfect. If you stay here, you will be within a short walking distance of the train station, the Jewish Cemetery, the Dom, the Rhine River, shops, etc.

I loved being able to hear the Cathedral bells from our window in the morning.

This hotel was great and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Make sure you choose a non-smoking room that faces the outside

We found this hotel late one evening when passing through, and we were impressed by the free car park, the bright, eficient reception, and sense of quality. 125 Euros for a room was a bit high, but I'm sure advance booking is cheaper. The ambience is in a bit of a 70's timewarp (e.g. built-in bedside radio). The room was clean and well maintained, but I noticed the stairway carpets were starting to fade - some refurbishment is due, really. The breakfast room is pleasant and offers a good choice. Location is very central and convenient, but the drawback of being the "Dom" (= Cathedral) hotel is the early morning bells (were there on a Sunday). There is no a/c so the windows have to be open, so you can't really avoid the noise. However, it wasn't enough to put me off staying again if I'm in the area.

The hotel has 4 stars and I don't really doubt them, it just does not look very modern, more like 70's. Needs a re-do all around. The parking garage is located rather inconveniently around the corner. From there you have to haul your luggage - no direct entry to the hotel. No special place to put our bikes, as was usual in other hotels. Positive: rather large room, blinds to keep off the sunshine and the heat, central location, not too loud, good breakfast.

We have stayed at th e Kriemhilde Dom Hotel several times over the last ten years and it's a wonderful find! The owners are very helpful and the location is wonderful - under a minute to walk to the main shopping area, bakeries and restaurants. The Dom (cathedral) is literally across the square and is beautiful! The rooms are simple but very clean and the breakfast was wonderful as well. Highly recommend it!
