Gil, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. He helped us to hire bikes and plan our itinerary. He also made restaurant recommendations and bookings and his suggestions were very good. The hotel is perfectly positioned with great views across the Rhine to St Goarhausen. The rooms are comfortable and very clean and the breakfast is very good.

We spent another two wonderful days at Rhein Hotel this past weekend. Again, we chose room #2, our favorite with a large terrace overlooking the Rhein and Burg Katz above Sankt Goarhausen. The room itself is also large with a couch and small fridge. As always, the room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was as great as always. They serve some of the best small breads we’ve ever eaten! Gil, the owner, is the best hotelier we’ve met anywhere in the world. It is abundantly clear that he loves his job, people, and providing the best service possible to every customer. He has tips and advice for nearly any question/situation. Gil made us a dinner reservation at one of the local restaurants and made another suggestion for dinner the following night at a small mill/winery. We did go, after biking all day along the Rhein, and the food was excellent. It’s another place we’ll definitely return to.

Room Tip: Spend the money for a room with terrace overlooking the Rhein. You'll be sorry if you don't...

We were greeted warmly the day we arrived and we sat down with the hotel manager and he told us all of the great things to do in the area, including time tables with boats and trains. It was very unexpected and we appreciated the information. He also gave us some information on places to eat.
We had a nice room with a small balcony (with a table and two chairs) facing the river and both nights we spent having a drink out there and it was very enjoyable. The breakfast was very nice and varied with meat, cheese & egg selections, as well as various breads, rolls, cereal, yogurt and fruit. The coffee and was very good too. The room was neat and clean and a decent size and the bathroom was small but very functional. We highly recommend this hotel.

My brother and I stayed at the Rhein Hotel, June 12-14, 2013. The owner, Gil, was very helpful in terms of restaurant and winery recommendations as well as hikes and day trips. We decided to stay in Rm 2, which is a large room with a large balcony overlooking the Rhine river. It was so nice to return to the hotel and watch the world go by, reading, have a snack or sampling some of our wine purchases. A nice breakfast with a good selection was included and the room was a very good value for 95 Euros per night. We were very pleased and highly recommend the hotel.

The hotl is only 5 minute walk from the train station. It overlooks the Rhein River, walking distance to everything (the town is very small & charming). The room & the bathroom were very clean. The owner, Gil, is extremely helpful & friendly. He helped us by emails before we got there & helped us a lot during our stay with planing daily trips and dinning recommendations. I would highly recommend this Bed & breakfast.

My wife and I primarily spend our vacations out and about exploring and visiting local sites so our sole purpose for hotels is to find somewhere safe, clean, and comfortable where we can sleep and shower in our own private room and bathroom. We look for basic no frills places to stay that are centrally located and affordable.

When we arrived in Sankt Goar, we originally had a room booked without a view at the Rheinhotel. However after seeing the potential view we could have we opted to upgrade to a room with a view. It was well worth it! The room was a very nice size (larger than most European hotel rooms), very clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast served in the morning was also very good.

From this location we were able to explore the area around Sankt Goar by car including driving along the Rein, visiting the castle ruins in Sankt Goar, and visiting Berg Eltz (about an hour's drive away). This was our last stop in Germany and our flight left from Frankfurt which was only about an hour away.

Our only regret is that we did not stay longer as we wished we would have had some time to do some biking along the Rhine and taking a half day Rhine cruise.

Overall a very nice stay and I would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: The views are definitely worth the extra money!

A great value for money hotel in a relative expensive area.

The hotel owner and the staff very friendly and ready to assist you. The owner can provide you all that useful information you may need to enjoy every minute in the area and planning your program to see great places, attractions, castles, enjoy a river boat trip or walking routes at the mountain.

The hotel is silent, in a great area and central located. Parking space is available opposite the hotel.

Opposite the hotel you can also find a station for river boats.

The breakfast room has a hilarious view of Rhein river and the buffet is very rich.

Room Tip: Try rooms with riverside view
