This restaurant/hotel is the best value in Germany! Heiko takes the time to make recommendations and explanations of food, drink, and local attractions. Great food, priced right--no wonder the locals eat here!

Great service, waiter was very friendly and had sense of humor. The food tasted amazing and was huge! Dining outside is possible, even when rain. See you next time. I'll be back :)

We stopped in for a quick lunch after hiking in St Goar. The food (just spatzle and bratkartoffelen) were very good. The waiter was pleasant and efficient. The location was great for us as it was 20 meters from our hotel. We didn't eat proper meals so we can't comment on that -- although the meals we did see served to other customers looked quite good. I'd try it for dinner in the future.

We travel to experience difference, but there are some differences that I do not understand. One is the attitude towards credit cards in Europe. The days of paper money and coins are clearly numbered and electronic payments are the future. Why is it so different in Europe? Europe is not the third world. I spent about 15 Euros on dinner. When I pulled out my AMEX, the proprietress acted as if I had stuck a gun in her ribs. Actually kind of rude, because she wasn't trying to be humerous. "NO, you can't use a credit card." 15 Euros was a little over $20 at the time. Heck, I charge a quart of milk in the U.S.

Our stay was absolutely great. The staff was exceptional and went of their way to make our experience memorable. Heiko from the staff did everything he could help us and our party.
Rick Steves was right, this is the best dollar value in St. Goar. My only negative would be that the WC is small but not inconvenient.
