We've just returned from a Rhine in Flames excursion with Edwards Coaches.
Vera and all the staff we had dealings with at the Ebertor were very welcoming and attentative to all our needs. The hotel and rooms are spotless and facilities are certainly worth a 3 star rating.
General a central location within easy access of all the river boats, Boppard centre and the fantastic chairlifts.
The external patio area was superb for dining or taking a drink whilt literally overlooking the mighty Rhine.
The continental breakfast was superb and certainly provided a great start to the day - not just croissants and jam but a huge selection of meats, cheese, bread, eggs, salal, bacon, cereals, juices etc.
Evening meals were more than adequate with good choices given we were staying on a dinner B&B basis with Edwards Coaches.
We have nothing negative to report based on our 4 night stay at the Ebertor in terms od quality, location and welcome so it's A+++++ all around.

Again my partner and I had a short stay at this hotel. We were given a room on the third floor of the new block which was spacious, comfort and nice. The only draw back is that there is no air conditioning although the reception staff did let us have a fan because if you have the windows open you hear the sounds of the trains going by every few minutes. The hotel staff are very friendly. The buffet breakfast was adequate. You can eat in the restaurant over looking the Rhine which is a wonderful setting and the food is good.
The only draw back with this hotel is that everything was in German even the emergency exit instructions which I thought should have been in English also.
On the whole though a very nice hotel.

This hotel's restaurant had an outdoor dining area overlooking the Rhine and the riverside promenade. Beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere. We had the asparagus soup and a large chicken salad platter topped off with a beer. Great location as the setting sun hit the hills across the Rhine. Seeing the boats and barges quietly moving down the river and people strolling along the promenade added to the ambience. Can't comment on the hotel as we didn't stay there, but would return again to the restaurant.

Vera owns and runs this hotel really well. I travelled in a coach party and she gave us a welcome talk about the hotel and Boppard with a welcome drink. The service and food were excellent. The proximity to the river and the town is very good. Bed and pillow were comfortable, economy room adequate and good for price paid.

I've always been fascinated by the legend of Loreley. Went there for a weekend getaway. The 2 night / 3 day package we bought from a third party vacation agency. But most terms are pretty standard. Boppard is a nice location if not much bigger village than the village of Loreley or St. Goar (opposite of Loreley), if you are going for Loreley, staying in Boppard would be a nice choice. You can take a cruise for 15 euros/person along the Rhein down to Loreley and back. But we opted for the train which costed 6.50/person for a daily ticket and that's between Boppard and St. Goar. From St. Goar, there is a cross-river ferry for 3 euros/person round trip to take you to and back from Loreley. You can walk to the rock and the Island with her statue. Was in general a pleasant one day excursion. If you are in to hiking, then you can be there for days and hike the multitude of trials on both sides of the river. Here are some pros and cons of Ebertor
PROS:
1. nice location: right on the river
2. clean and comfortable: not that everything's brand new in the rooms, but it was kept spotless, which is what you can expect in most accommodations in Germany. the beds are simple yet comfortable. Heater works like magic and the room gets warm very quickly.
3. Good breakfast: our package came with breakfast. It is a buffet and provided good variety from fresh fruits to meat and cheese. You can definitely get a good start of the day there.
CONS:
1. Not all services was available: our package included use of Spa and Sauna, we were told by reception that it was not open on the weekend, AND that a group of 10 had booked it already. The hours are really not that great, it opens about 3-4 days a week with VERY limited hours. So if you want to enjoy the spa, better check with the hotel before you arrive to avoid disappointment.
2. Our package stated check-out time being 3pm, but the reception called and informed us that normal check out time is 11am. they were ok with us staying a bit longer after I told them what I thought it was. But still, it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

all in all, don't expect full service and double check for availability of services before you go there. We went in the low season, I can't speculate how high season would be. Many tour groups go there and they host conference and weddings. So definitely beware of issues related to limited capacity.

Room Tip: Rooms are pretty standard, we were put to the new wing with our window facing the front entrance par...

Hotel Ebertor has two buildings and it probably depends on which building you are in.
I was booked into a room in the motel style building and can't comment on the rooms in the main building. The second building resembles an american Motel more than a 3* Hotel.

The room was quite dated and not too well maintained (some wood splinterted of the bathroom door, etc) but very clean. The bathroom (with broken mount for the shower head) was very small and the water pressure was quite low. This might have been ok in a inner city hotel in a large city (e.g. Berlin, Paris) but in a town like Boppard not so much. Also, I found the poor soundproofing very annoying, I could hear anything from people talking to people turning on water faucet.

I got a decent rate, but the prices advertised on the hotel homepage are just too expensive for this place offers.
