“Lovely little hotel with friendly staff”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

Had a 3 night break here and had a lovely time, Pleasing decor and style with the staff very friendly and helpful and lovely village (although be warned I could not find an outside local German bar/stube that abided the smoking ban, hotel bar is rather good though) We had room 207 which I would recommend as it was large and quiet (end of corridor with Rhine view) Food at the hotel is ok and fairly priced, breakfast is partly English and pretty good. Beds could have been better, the usual double created by two singles and mattress not the best. However a good nights sleep and enough room.

Not sure why the other moaning posts on noise....might be an issue in the summer as no aircon and then with the windows open you would hear the freight trains over the river. But you will get that with any hotel in Boppard I would think. We were fine and I have the impression that the very capable staff would address any issue you may have.

Only downside was the odd coach group, but they were always out early and back late, for me it was just hearing the English tourists in the bar....sigh...nothing worse than a opinionated loud yorkshire man:) bit embarrassing:) Entschuldigung mein Deutsch Freunde, sehr geduldig sind Sie und danke du bist

Room Tip: Must have Rhine view

Very nice experience! Cozy rooms and very quiet, friendly stuff. Delicious food and vine at the restaurant. Wi-Fi Internet was restricted somewhat, but as everywhere in Europe. A peer is right in front of the Hotel. Explore the cellar in the basement!

We spent three nights in October at the Best Western, Bellevue, and would love to go back. Across from the Rhine River, with a sweeping open front porch where people gather for cocktails, and conversation. What could be better. The staff is gracious and helpful, particularly Catherine at the desk, who goes the extra mile to help, Herr Kollmeirer, the head Waiter, is very efficient, considerate and friendly and Frau Dobsa who works the bar and her magic on any drink you desire. Our room, #304, was very spacious with a large marble bathroom. Had a room safe and large windows. The restaurant food was exceptionally good, with a varied menu. Can't say enough about this hotel and its staff.

My husband and I and one of our daughter's family stayed here 4 days. Old World charm hotel with modern amenities. What a surprise for a Best Western hotel. Friendly English speaking staff, a beautiful restaurant right on the Rhine, on-site bar, river walking promenade, shopping and restaurants within several blocks of the hotel, and castle boat tours down the Rhine from right in front of the hotel. Beautiful breakfast. Buffet, but expensive. We highly recommend this hotel. The only reason for a 4 rating on the room is the safe in our room was too small for my full size iPad. Other rooms had larger safes so if this is a concern, be sure to ask for a room with a larger safe.

Great location on the river, quite beautiful. We had a deluxe size double room, and the size of the room was adequate. We had a balcony, but it was more fun to walk down the river and explore the sights in town. Room was clean, the service was very friendly. It was a little bit loud at night since our room was overlooking the street, but it seemed to calm down by midnight. I would stay here again.

I booked this hotel to attend the wine festival on Boppard, in order to stay the three nights I needed for the festival I had to book a minimum of four. I was provided with tea & coffee making facilities only after I made a specific request; this was never refreshed throughout my entire stay, though the clean cup was left for me. Despite several signs advertising it, there is no wifi available without buying a voucher. My final bill included a charge for breakfast every day despite my having booked 'room only' and made it clear on checking in that I did not require breakfast. This is a 'best Western Premier' ; the only thing 'premier' about the hotel appears to be the pricing and restrictive booking conditions.

Dear Adrian H,

Thank you very much for getting back to us.

We would like to take the opportunity to clarify some issues you stated on Tripadvisor.
First of all let us apologize for the housekeeping department for not cleaning and refreshing your tea/coffee-making facilities. Please be assured that if you would have told us in the first place, we would have done so immoderately.

Secondly our staff at the front desk is trained to ask each and every person if they would like to have breakfast. This is a standard procedure while Check-in as well as the offer of our free WIFI-Codes. We do issue free codes upon arrival and beyond free of charge. Those codes expire automatically after 12 hours to prevent a misuse.

Lastly we would like to inform you that the wine-festival season is a highly requested period. As a private hotel we have to also fulfill our economic responsibility in respect to our stakeholders and therefore have to assure a high occupancy. Please compare our rates to other destinations (also in your country) and you will see that those are still on a moderate level. We do not charge an extra fee compared to other properties at comparative events nor do we double the rates like others for trade fairs.

We hope we could clarify some items and look forward to welcoming you again in Boppard.

Yours sincerely,

Marek Gawel

This grand hotel, dating from 1887, has a great location on the Rhine just 10 minutes walk from the railway station. My room was spacious and well-appointed and had a lovely view across the river. It is as well to be aware that the hotel is extensively used by touring groups, some of them quite large, and the normally sedate atmosphere can turn a bit boisterous at times.
