Smiling and welcoming German staff. Menu in English. Pages of local German cuisine along with local beers and Killepitsch to finish.
Sometimes when you are travelling, it's hard to get away from international cuisine and food chains - sometimes, you want to eat and drink like a local and enjoy the ambience. A hundred and one things to do with potatoes, pork and cabbage as well as other specialities.
The staff were really helpful and described and recommended dishes. I went for a dish which comprised of: sauerkraut, pork chop, local sausage, potatoes cubes fried in onion, garlic and herb and a huge hunk of pork knuckle. All washed down with Schofferhofer Heffe Weise and Killipitsch - I avoided the local brown ale because they are always sold in v.small glasses.
Great service - the essence of Germany under one roof. Get away from Holiday Inn, Mercure etc - avoid Dusseldorf and eat here for a great experience.
