“There truly are rides for all ages, from 4 year olds to Thrill-seeking adults!!!”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

We're a family of 4 with a 7 year-old boy and 4 year-old girl. This was our 3rd trip back to Heide Park and it is definitely one of our favorite places to visit. This time we made the 6-hr drive to Soltau and spent 4 nights up there with 3 of those days at Heide Park.

There are plenty of rides for all ages. Scream, Krake, Limit, Desert Race, and Collossus are some pretty nice roller coasters for the thrill seekers (you can youtube the videos), and there are even 2 small coasters that our 4 year old loves. I've attached some pics of the rides the entire family went on, but I went on all of the Roller Coasters and I really enjoyed them.

The past two years, we've had the Merlin Annual Pass which also includes several other theme parks, but this is by far our favorite. They have a very good variety of food choices, but we packed our lunches (to save some $$$) and it worked out great.

If you come to visit the Soltau area, you can also go to Serengetti, the drive thru Safari park and Center Parc in Bispingen has a pretty nice indoor water park.

If you like amusement parks, spend a week around Soltau (we stayed at Hotel auf dem Simpel which I also recommend) and you won't regret it!

Just make sure you get the Merlin Annual Pass!!!

The ONLY bad thing I can say about the park is that they close VERY EARLY...much of the time it 1700 or 1800. However, we still had some very long days at the park and the lines weren't too bad. We never waited more than 15-20 min for the bigger rides, and even those were more like 5-10.

“A brilliant park with everything your heart desires!”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

If you are into large 100 meter tall rides with loops and breath taking speed you will find yourself right at home in Heide park.

If you are into slow moving rides, with sweet music and cartoon figures you will find yourself right at home as well.

Heide park has for many many years been my families favorite Fun Park in Europe and we have been coming here every year for 15 years.

They have a brilliant atmosphere, the park is very scenic and they have done a lot to be something very special, they accommodate the whole family with rides and entertainment shows and you will find everything from dancing dolphin shows to gut wrenching vertical drops and fun rides.

The price is very fair for a full day of all you want action and fun.

The food in heide park is maybe the one thing lacking a bit behind. They only sell the traditional gas station foods such as french fries with mayo, ice cream and other light greasy meals.

We usually bring in our own food and beverages and everybody meets up for dinner in the middle of the day.

All in all this place may not be as beautiful as Disneyland but it is certainly better in all other perspectives!

Highly recommended!

“Great Park, lots of stuff for all ages”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

Used to visit Heide Park while living in Bergen, probably 30 minutes south by car.
It's parent company is Merlin Entertainment, which also owns Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Tussauds and Sea Life centres. So you get the idea of the quality and scale.

It's a big park with a great spread of rides for all ages. Quite a few coasters including one called Colossus, which a few years ago had a world record for the highest drop of a wodden coaster i believe. Not sure if it still holds it.

A couple of water rides, quite a few smaller kids rides.

All on the website.

Our favourite was Scream - a vertical tower drop ride. In early or late season we used to ride this 4-5 times without having to get off as the park was quiet, this was on a weekend as well.

Quite a few places to eat, but as is a very German thing, families normally truck their food around with them to keep costs down. Currywurst and Pommes alwayss went down well though.

We bought Annual passes a couple of times and just popped up for a couple hours when we had some free time.

All in all a really good park to visit.
