“Always a pleasure”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

The 'Weisse Dune' has been a family favourite for years. The food is very good and most of the servers are very nice - even at the busiest times. The location is fabulous - if you happen to be on Norderney this beach is a must. This time some of the long benches have been replaced by individual chairs which is a pity since there is now less space - and the place gets busy. We liked the convivial atmosphere of those long benches and we had many a good chat with complete strangers - so please bring them back. There has also been a reduction of the delicious salads in favour of a goat's cheese dish, which is a pity. Nevertheless, the wonderfully spicy currywurst and the fantastic plum cake are still there and we will definitely be back for more.

“Perfect”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

Again, you would suspect that at such a touristy place (after all, only 6000 people live permanently on the island, while 400 000 people visit every year), restauranteurs wouldn't care so much about quality, because customers will leave again soon and are not likely to come back anyway. Die Weisse Duene is certainly not like that. We ate there twice and stayed on for a couple of hours each time to have coffee and one of their smashing desserts (the Griespudding mit Rotweinkirschen is to die for and the chocolate mousse can absolutely hold its own!). Main courses are great as well, the sweetpotato fries are very nice and the sandwiches and soups just right. Portions are on the bigger side, with prices totally justified. Their fireplace lounge is really comfy with sofas and it's the perfect place to spend a rainy windy day, after hiking there from town (3.5 kms). The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and we would have gone there over and over again if we had stayed longer. Compliments to the owners, you're doing a great job!

“wonderful Ambiance”
Reviewed March 7, 2012

The ambiance was the best part. It's perfect when you are hungry or thirsty and a little bit chilled from walking on the beach. There is a fireplace, with cozy chairs for curling up with a good book and warm drink, or tables and chairs for eating. the Architecture was open, light, large windows with natural wood building. The staff were pleasant, attentive despite the crowds, and spoke a very small amount of english. We enjoyed a warm drink, the food looked and smelled delicious.

“Again and again and again”

We'ra travelling to norderney two or three times a year. A must have is the Weiße Düne at the northern part of the beach. You must try the "chief soup" and the "potatoe soup whith prawns". Only two of the excellent meals of the "Weiße Düne"...
