My wife and I booked the Hotel Garni Forum a couple of nights prior to our arrival largely because I underestimated how long our trip to Bremen would take. The unseasonably cold weather in the area apparently proved a boon to hotel availability!
We had some difficulty at first finding the hotel: my wife, who speaks some German, asked different people first at a gas station and later at a grocery store when the street we were looking for was. No one seemed to know at first. Eventually, we talked with an older gentleman who headed us to the right street (which turned out was a block long).
The receptionist and manager at the hotel was exceptionally pleasant and served as a good guide not only to the hotel but also to the city center. The hotel itself was pleasant and nice, but by the time we walked to the town center, they were pretty much rolling up the sidewalks, so we grabbed a quick bite to eat and returned to the hotel. We really didn't get much of an opportunity to see all the rat memorabilia, but we may have been better off for it.
Our room was modern and comfortable, and in the morning, we had a good breakfast there and continue on our trip to Bremen.
