The water tower in Luneburg is the best place to enjoy the view of this Medieval city. Make sure you take your camera with you and a practical tip for ladies: beware of the wind - if it's windy your hair will be all over the place so it may be a good idea to tie it or take a hat.

This is the best place to see the town from above. The view from the water tower to all sides is beautiful, and you can learn some of the city’s history in addition. There is a model of the original water tower, built in 1905 and intended to supply water to the entire city. As it turned out, the city grew too quickly for the water tower to be used, but the plan and the model itself are very interesting. A wedding was scheduled on the day we visited, and the second floor was supposed to be closed, but the caterers let us have a peek. Definitely worth a visit.

If you are in Luneburg this is the place to go. The views are amazing and the old steps inside are quaint. Its a great place to learn about the town and its rich history. There are elevators for those who cant make the trek up the steps. Once at the top you have a full view of all the red roofs and the entire town. One can spend hours up on top just watching the world go by. There is a small fee to go in but its very cheap and worth it. Even the walk to the building is very cool.

Wasserturm is a must go place in Lüneburg, in fact you should go here first before somewhere else. It is not far from the Bahnhof and you can get there easily by walking or take any bus to am sande (only 1 stop after for about 2 minutes). You can go up by elevator and see a wonderful view of Lüneburg in any direction. In the Christmas time you can also enjoy some glüh wein after the climb and see so many Christmas greetings and tradition for all over the world during your way back down strairs. You can also play some interactive quiz and see how people used to keep water there for about 100 years ago. After you can cross the street and visit the biggest church in Lüneburg.

You can make very nice pictures from there. It was a bit annoying because the inside was filled with not qualitative works of the children, but it is a part of education so I shouldn't complain
