We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights over the weekend. Very friendly staff at reception and restaurant; dinner was perfect (first evening candle light dinner - five-course menu; second evening large buffet); breakfast also perfect. Room was ok, nothing special, but quiet (with view over the small park) and clean. Spa area was large enough; we also had a great massage. All in all a perfect stay, if you like to relax. Recommendable hotel!

This wasn't my ultimate luxus experience, still i think this is a truly 5 star hotel both in the premises and service at an "affordable" price. Well mantained and well appointed, nice garden and nice spa (but no ice pool). Room as expected, bathroom just OK. Service: the two young guys at the reception were friendly and efficient. WIFI worked just fine (extra cost). I am very wary about eating at hotel's restaurant and usually the more the star the worst the deal. This hotel has three restaurants and due to heavy rain i tried the "typical":it was good surprise both in price (not cheap but reasonable) and quality. A mention to the waiter and staff - unusually fast ... I find German bar and restaurant veeery slow. Now the bad points: i have seen better breaksfast in this kind of hotels. My room was a non smoking: i cannot tell it smelled of smoke, but it didn't smell very good either.

Very nice hotel set in beautiful surroundings and very close to a lovely little spa town. Hotel itself is very attractive and the food is great. Only downside was the room. Slightly dated and could do with a freshen..

Staff very friendly and helpful.

Would recommend to older people or family's due to the quietness and surroundings.

Room Tip: the front facing groundfloor rooms have a small patio and grass area outside on which you can catch...

i was a tagalong on a business trip to bad worishofen .... we stayed at the steigenberger hotel and were quite happy with it ....

the positives:
-charming employees who were always happy to speak in english regardless of their skill level ... many had astonishing english skills
-gorgeous location
-just an hour from munich
-across the street from a great park
-nice buffet breakfast
-spacious room ... and ours overlooked the back yard ... just lovely ....

the not as positives....ok fine, the negatives:
-housekeeping was odd, erratic even .... why did they never take our used bar glasses from the first day of the stay? they remained on our coffee table for days and days....why were they stingy with fresh towels? if you take some away, it would be nice to have new ....
-the lunch menu was quite limited
-the splendor is fading a bit ... i don't mind this at all, but someone expecting fresh and fabulous would be disappointed

i think americans shouldn't travel and expect the americanization of everything ....but there are some things that were surprising to me ...
-the fitness center .... a bit disappointing for a spa resort .... very small, very hot, ZERO ventillation, no attendant for assistance on the german machines ... i did figure out the german eliptical, but i couldn't manage any particular programming
-the massage ... ultimately, my massage was great .... but i wasn't given particular choices of what i wanted , i just volunteered what i would like .... plus, i was quite taken aback at the perfunctoriness of "take your clothes off and lie down" ... no american coddling of modesty and undressing in private ...(again, cultural differences... there are plenty of naked people in the parks of munich) ...

MOST charming bit:
-the hotel has a collection of bikes to borrow ... perfect for riding into town or toodling through the lovely park and paths across the street

missed opportunity (darn):
-cool red clay tennis courts in the park across the street ... wish i'd had time to play!

I stayed here in Feb 2012 as part of a business trip. It's location in Bad Worishofen won't suit everyone as it's quite far from Munich, but as a spa getaway, it's likely to be ideal as the town itself is quiet and has interesting nooks and crannies to explore.

The hotel shows its age, as the furninshing in the rooms and the bathrooms are not the newest. It's clean though, and that's the main thing, but you won't find the latest range of styles here, if that's important to you.

The food was good, and had a good variety through the number of days I was there.

A lot of fame, but lousy service. This is not a 5 star hotel! The hotel is not suitable for international guests. Almost no one speaks English, and the flyers and menus are written only in German. The hotel is a city known for spa treatments - the result is that there are many old and sick people who walk the halls and restaurants sniffling.
I booked online, and I asked the hotel to leave a bottle of champagne, a cake or flowers in the room because my husband was having a birthday that day - I would pay for it. But my request was completely ignored. There was not a greeting card either, although they have asked us the date of birth of each one of us at check-in ... The next day, during breakfast, the lady at the next table got a cake and candles. I was very upset, and went to reception to ask if they received my request. The receptionist said that my request had been received, and offered us a drink at the bar as an excuse. We refuse the drink, of course, because we had no interest in drinking anything right after breakfast. And she offered us nothing more ... I thought it was very rude.
The bathtub was dirty, and the wall was sprinkled with water and soap. Daily cleaning was just stretching the sheets on the bed. The room we stayed is a duplex suite, but has a large room on the first floor and very small bedroom and bathroom up the stairs. The balcony has a wall that prevents the view when seated. The suite has an ugly decor, and the sofa was stained. Both of the two TV remote controls were failing. The chandelier had one light bulb. The hotel has no porters for luggage.

Room Tip: If you want to be treated with kindness, do not come to this hotel.
