I had never heard of Pompejanum until the day we visited Aschaffenburg and we found out that there is a combo ticket for both Johannisburg Schloss and the Villa. Fortunately we had enough time to visit it.It's a short walk from the Castle, We crossed the bridge and reached the other side of river Main. Very nice walk following the path among so many trees and bushes. As the day was extremely warm for Germany (39 degrees C.!) the trees shade was a gift.
The villa was built in 1840 for the art lover King Ludwig I of Bavaria and it's a successful example of Pompeiis amazing houses and their famous frescoes.
The garden has stunning views towards Main river and the Castle, while the roses brighten up the landscape.I enjoyed every single minute there.
