“Lovely stay in a darling little Bavarian town!”

We recently stayed for 1 night in this lovely hotel and from check-in to check-out, it was a great stay. The room/bathroom were well appointed and very comfortable. The service was outstanding, especially from Marcus and Anja. The restaurant was outstanding - best beef stroganoff ever! Breakfast was very good, too. I would stay here again in a minute!

This hotel has had many wonderful things written about it (which is why ,on reading trip advisor reviews , we chose this hotel )
I wanted to add that this hotel had such a happy atmosphere, which for us made it stand out from many other great hotels in which we have stayed all over the world. Many have had super food and rooms as The Wittelsbach has , but it was the ambiance which sticks in our minds.Marcus and Anja, the hotel owners , and Alexander ,Claudia and Abashek could not have been more helpful and pleasant.
I am diabetic and each evening the kitchen staff made me a superb fresh fruit salad as my evening desert which I greatly appreciated. From Pamela H.
Apart from all this the hotel is situated only a few minutes from the bus station and train station which is a bonus when one has been out all day walking and climbing
When we arrived we met a couple who had been eight times to The Wittelsbach. When we left we understood why.

Stayed here for a week in the Romantic Suite. We could not fault this hotel at all, the food, staff and atmosphere were all first rate. It is also ideally situated for travel by bus or train to other destinations in Bavaria or even farther afield. The owners of this hotel do all that they can to satisfy the needs of their guests. I have never before seen a selection of 40 loose teas that can be selected at breakfast.

We had a great holiday despite the rain in this very well run hotel. All the staff go out of their way to be helpful and we felt very welcome. They even conjured up something off menu for my very fussy youngest child when they saw that she wasn't looking forward to any of the set menu choices. It is very convenient for the shops, buses and trains but is still tranquil. My only negative comments - and I'm sorry to put them here but not sure where else to put them, as they aren't any fault of the management at all - is that the "standard" Thomson room we had was extremely small. The other Thomson Lakes and Mountains problem was that the excursions were very misleading, the cost you pay to Thomson is only transport and all the entrancecosts are quite steep, more than the transport costs in many cases, and they don't tell you this until you have booked and paid for the (non-refundable) travel. So go direct to the excursion office next to the Kurpark and book with them directly and you can then see the total cost before you decide whether or not to go ahead.

We would defiinitely go back to Ruhpolding and stay in the Wittelsbach but not sign up for anything with Thomson in advance!!

We recently returned from Ruhpolding, Germany after a weeks holiday in the Hotel Wittelsbach. The hotel welcome was very good and friendly and we were personally shown to our room by Anja. Our room was one for which we had paid an extra £266 to Thomson holidays for a superior one. The room itself (room 29) was very comfortable, smartly and stylishly furnished with lots of space and great views over the mountains. The only disappointment we had was the very small bathroom; the smallest we have ever had in a hotel. We did raise this with Anja and she confirmed that this was a Superior room.
We nevertheless had a great week at the Wittelsbach; the food is good and plentiful, the staff friendly and helpful and Marcus and Anja very attentive.
Ruhpolding is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of Bavaria and we hope to return in the future. It is also a good base for exploring Bavaria and Thomson/Crystal provided a good variety of optional excursions and all were enjoyed by us.
We were fortunate to have great weather whilst there and the Wittelsbach's central location in Ruhpolding was perfect.

We decided to book a 2 week holiday in the Mountains through Crystal Holidays and chose the Wittelsbach Hotel, after reading all the fantastic reviews.
And was it a good choice, by far it was. The Wittelsbach is a stunning Hotel, with excellent service, brilliant, friendly Staff and very tasty food, with the menu very varied and never repeated and the amazing selection of tea's. The owners Anja and Marcus always went the extra mile and made our stay that extra bit special.
This was our 1st holiday in Bavaria and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend this to all and we will be returning in the future and even thinking of having our Wedding at the Wittelsbach.
The Wittelsbach is very central to all the enjoyable amenities and there are many enjoyable things to do, for the young and old, not to mention lovely walks along the beautiful rivers, horse drawn carriage trips, Brass Bands playing at the Kurhaus and many many tasty cake shops.
Another added extra, is the Xtra card that was issued as part of the holiday deal, which is really a bonus to have as this entitles you to free unlimited use on the chair lift, 1 day pass on the cable car, unlimited use on the local buses, access to their Museums and 3 hours per day use in the amazing swimming area, which has many different pools to suit all needs, including a wave pool, olympic size outdoor pool, diving boards just to mention a few.
The mini golf course is also a must on the visit, as the course is creatively done and after the game you can relax on one of their deck chairs, looking out at the stunning views and watching the paragliders float in from the mountain.
Once again, we would totally and utterly recommend the Wittelsbach Hotel in Ruhpolding ~ Kathy and Jon, East Midlands UK

We are a family composed of five members: the parent and three children (aged 2, 4 and 9).
We have had a very pleasent stay in the hotel. It is simply perfect for families. we stayed there 11 nights.

The room is a big, new, modern and very comfortable. It is quiet, sunny and very clean. The three children stayed in one part of the room that is separated of the adults side by a courtain.

The staff and management in the hotel heleped us all te time and were flexible with our needs (food for the children is the most suitable I have never seen in a hotel).

The hotel is very clean, the staff in the restaurante very hepful and nice and the whole atmosphere what you want ti have in your holidays.

Breakfast is great and the choices in the dinner are elaborated and nice.

I strongly reccomend this hotel when travelling with children. We have stayed in many hotels with the children and this is, for sure, the best.

Ruhpolding and its are are fantastic and you have cities like Salzburg, Munich and Innsbruck quire near.

Simply the best choice.
