Four of us went here for a meal, although the menu is in German the staff did all they could to translate the items for us. Good quantities of good quality food. The only drawback is that they close at 18.00

It took us a day or two to find the restaurant - Brander Strasse is a long road. It is not in the centre of Ruhpolding, but past the Vita Alpina.

We went especially for the cream puffs and they were fantastic. The menu is extensive and has other food choices, but there were at least a dozen varieties of the cream puffs to choose from, at varying prices.

The ones we went for cost 5.50 or 6.50 euros, but were huge. Ours were packed with fruit, ice-cream and cream. There was a hint of alcohol on the ones we chose too. Each one comes with a card swan neck, printed with a number to show how many of that type had been served. Our numbers were 2,503,273 for a number 4, 2,490,838 for a number 7 and 2,528,451 for a number 9.

The service was prompt, even though it was busy.

The service was excellent: waitstaff was polite and hospitable. Loved the cream puffs! We found out that the cream puffs were the house specialty. You will not be disappointed if you try them.

We went as a family of two adults and two teenage children on Valentines day. We had been skiing in Ruhpolding and had heard so much about this place that we just had to visit. The restaurant is just on the edge of the town and had ample parking (even in the deep snow). We sat in the first room on the left as you walk in to this magnificent building. The menu is like a book and is all in German but our excellent waitress managed to translate the words that I didnt learn at school!! We ordered three of the swan cream puffs and there were many oohs and aahs when they arrived. These cakes really need to be seen to be believed. (google "windbeutel" for pics). The service was great, the surrounding fantastic and the price was a little more that we had payed elsewhere but was well worth it. No trip to Ruhpolding would be complete without a visit.

Well worth a visit, gorgeous cakes. Managed to order in our very limited German (menu only in German) but just enjoyed the surprise that came! Went back again the day after it was so lovely. Not for those on a diet!
