Titisee is nice place to visit, with the surrounding forest and the lake. Try to take a ride to see the lake and its surroundings...beautiful view.

It is indeed a good destination if you are looking for a breezy relaxing Sunday to walk about, and enjoy the lakeside view. We enjoyed the black forest greenery and fresh cool air on the long way to the lake. Shops selling souvenirs and the famous cuckoo clocks are easily accessible, quite pricey though. Personally, I was expecting much more...

And a nice lake. With ferries and smaller water crafts for rent. Restaurants all over here. As well as super touristy cuckoo clock souvenir stores. Bacon. Mugs. Silly german hats everywhere. There is at least 1 store that is a giant cuckoo clock itself. Nice hike around the lake if you have hours to kill.

Popular, natural Black Forest lake which is about 30k from Freiburg and easily commutable via public transportation.

There are a good few options available for walking around the lake and in to the surrounding forest. Pleasant climbs and plenty of viewing spots over looking the vast landscape.

We chose the long walk which was about 8km - nice but didn’t really have much in the way of lakeside walking - perhaps a fifth?

Personally I think the Italian lakes and the Lake District in the UK are better for walking and sights. Still, there is enough to do and see and easy to get to.

Given that Titisee is billed as one of the main attractions in Schwarzwald we were somewhat underwhelmed. It’s ok to spend an hour or maybe two with a nice meal. Or maybe we are spoiled by much more beautiful lakes and villages in nearby Switzerland. We drove 2h to get there but that seemed too much for what it was in the end.

We were a group of 8 people , went there as a stop while driving around , it was certainly a wonderful surprise ! The lake was just beautiful ! Quiet and relaxing .
We rented a boat and it was a lot of fun and a relaxing good hour, the view from inside the lake is really wonderful !
Highly recommended stop

Besides Schluchsee this is one of the most famous places in Schwarzwald, so expectations were high. Now I did a tour around the lake by bike an noticed: not a through road around the small lake, the amount of camp grounds around the lake is enormous and tampers views and being, buildings around the lake - not beauties. Would not spend more time myself here.

Were here in September. It was busy and very touristy.
Lake is nice to cycle round or go on the rondvahrt boat.
So much kitsch in the shops.

The lake and the town of Titisee are pleasant stop. Best thing about the area is that the buses from Freiburg are currently free while they rebuild the train line. There is a €5/person tourist fee when we signed into our hotel that covers free bus transportation throughout the area. Not sure how long the free buses from Freiburg will last. Supposed to be complete by Nov in time for winter sports season but they have a lot of work to do. Titisee shops close at 6pm. Restaurants are decent but nothing to right home about. Many are combo German/Italian menus.....strictly resort stuff. Several recommended restaurants in Neustadt especially Pauli Writ....bus ride and a walk from Titisee. Many good hikes in the area. Took the bus to Feldberghof ski area — 6mi hike around the mountain including the Feldsee lake. Scenic, not too strenuous.
