We had a one night stay travelling down to the Alps. The hotel was fine and the town delightful. We would stay again en route through Germany.

We found the staff very helpful. The hotel is very convenient for the autobahn.

With limited offer in Offenburg this hotel seems to be a good alternative.
Location poor if you like to walk around.
What is really disturbing is an old fashioned interior design which is really awfull especially in restaurant and bar.
Food is good.
Swimming pool is s plus.

The Mercure is very conveniently located when going to the Exhibition center or coming from the Autobahn, though accessing the parking lot took two tries. The building can't be missed, large and high enough to make itself known.
The parking lot is a bit crowded, and the extension (for parking) at the rear of the building is not all that convenient, since there is no access to the hotel from that side, so one has to walk back around to the front.
The check-in was very pleasant. The lobby and restaurant are done in the local folk style with lots of wood. But it still has a very nice feel to it and was very pleasant.
The room I had booked turned out to be very nice. It was very spacious, with separate living and sleeping areas, and a toilet as well as a main bathroom with a toilet. The furnishings weren't spectacular, but nice and comfortable enough. One doesn't hang out in one's room for the most part, so these items were ok. There were TVs in both rooms, also very nice and convenient.
The bathroom was very big - lots of room to move around and lots of amenities - shower gel, toothbrush, hair dryer and the usual toiletries. The towels weren't great, but of reasonable quality.
The adjoining restaurant was very nice and the meal we ordered quite tasty. I had a "spicy" pasta dish, which was very nicely seasoned, even if it was not "hot" as listed in the menu. My date had a pasta dish as well, which she enjoyed. I ordered a Bordeaux, which was quite tasty. When I asked for a refill, I got a German red - not so tasty. The waitress should have asked if she wasn't certain, but that's a minor item.
Breakfast was also a very nice spread with cheeses, cold cuts, cereal, eggs, bacon and sausage, and coffee served hot and quickly. Very pleasant staff and very nice lay out, for 17 Euro each, not exactly cheap, but it seemed worth it to me.
I've saved the worst for last. As nice as the rooms were, the beds and pillows suck. Sorry, there's no other way to put it. The "double" bed in the room is just two twin beds pushed together, and ready to separate at a breath from the occupant. If they don't want to put in queen or king beds, then at least connect these beds so one doesn't wind up falling between them. The "Besucherritze" (German term for the split between two beds) should really be a thing of the past. And adding to the misery, were the pillows. These were flat, with no spring, no texture or anything. My neck was sore and stiff in the morning. If it had not been for these two items, I'd have given this hotel an excellent, because everything else was really very nice. But the comfort of the bed is what makes a hotel room and this was not the quality it should have been.

We spent one night at the Mercure Hotel on business, Any hotel that does not have free wifi in the room does not qualify for excellency for a business traveler. The standard room was modern clean and OK. The reception was professional. The location of the hotel is central, if you have a car, but staying in the old town is much easier for getting around by foot and shopping purposes, especially if it's snowing and freezing weather as it was when we were there. Parking is not free at the hotel. The one thing that was exceptional was the breakfast offered at the hotel. It was amazing and the service was also great. The pool looked entertaining but there was an exercise class going on there when we wanted to swim so we did not use the pool at all.

we booked a suite (paid extra) and had company. Moses Perths (insects) all over, pillow, batheroom etc. The staff said it's because of trees outside the hotel. not a pleasant experience! the rooms were clean as well as breakfast was very good and the swimming pool big and very pleasant, very good locasation not far from the historic city centre, The Christmas market was very nice and tasty. The incident with the insects gave a bitter impression .
