My wife and I, who are Amercians, dined at Zum Engel on November 8 and had a wonderful experience. The owner/chef took his time to explain the menu (we are Americans and, unfortunately, do not speak German) and offer suggestions. Dinner started with a salad bar of fresh veggies, followed by the main courses (steak and venison) which were perfectly prepared, moist and tender. The side dishes similarly were wonderful - crisp and light french fries and tender spaetzle. For dessert, we had cinammon ice creams and berry-filled crepes, which were super. We enjoyed our meal immensely, so much so that we intend a second meal here before we return home. This was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Germany.
