We stayed here for 3 nights on a riving trip around southern Germany. This was our first visit to the Black Forest and you can't get much deeper into it than this hotel. Steeped in history and family owned for centuries, this hotel certainly knows how to offer Black Forest hospitality. I suspect there are not too many English speaking guests that stay at this small town, let alone this hotel, but all of the staff made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to introduce themselves to us,translate the menu and chat. Our doubleroom had a balcony and a fabulous view of the forest. Comfortable beds and small bathroom. The meals of course are a hi-light and the evening meal is 4-5 courses of delicious locally sourced food. Lots of Black Forest and German specialities for guests to try.Breakfast is equally good and sets you up for the many walks available from the hotel. The spa is also a treat with steam rooms, saunas and a nice indoor pool to try. There were some children staying here, but the guests were mainly older/retirees. The autumn colours were stunning and the surrounding forests and walks, invigorating.
