This was one of the worst hotels we have ever been to - and we travel a lot. We got down to the breakfast room, and it was overcrowded. No table. They had busloads full of guest, but not enough room for them. When we complained later, we were told by the grumpy lady at the cash desk, we should come back for breakfast an hour later.

We stayed for 2 nights in Pro Domo this month.
The hotel is old, not the kind of hotel we normally choose for a short trip. The location is ok, a short walk true a park and you are in the town centre. Free parking is in front and on the side of the hotel.
The rooms are strange, one door, then two door for your room and the room next to you.
Bathroom was basic but very clean, the room itself was small, but it had a large TV and a good bed.
There is WIFI in the rooms but you have to pay for it. In these times WIFI should be free if you ask me.
Breakfast was nice, there was plenty, and good food.
If you pay by VISA, they charge you extra!

We arrived to find 4 people behind reception, none of whom greeted us or looked as if they worked in a hotel.
We checked in and were asked to pay in advance 'because it will be busy in the morning' In fact there was nobody around except someone doing breakfast, they were clearly lazy.

The restaurant/ reception/ games room/bar was scruffy and shabby and confused with hand written labels and computer printed rules ansd notices, and cluttered with old knick-knacks.
.
The bedroom, up a staircase with soiled carpet, was poky and shabby with saggy mattresses. It was clean and so was the bedding and towels but the bathroom smelled of drains by the morning, so much so that it made me retch when I returned to clean my teeth after breakfast.
The walls were so thin that I listened to a neighbour coughing all night. Only one side of the bed had a side table and light and the toilet paper was the thinnest I've ever seen. Hanging space was behind a curtain.

Internet was 2 euros per day which was fine.

Breakfast was pretty basic. The rolls were nice and fresh but the boiled eggs (could they have been left overs from the day before?) .....and the meat, cheese and jam were distinctive in their complete lack of taste.

Parking was adjacent to the hotel but not secure in any way.

The town of Soest is worth a visit for its old town wall and half timbered mediaeval houses.
We were given a town plan when we asked, but got a blank response when we asked for advice on a suitable route for a walk and any places of interest that were recommended.

The gardens/grass at the back was littered with shabby children's slide/ paddling pool/ trampoline all of which were unsightly. Both back and front were a collection of shabby tables and chairs.

We didn't fancy eating in the hotel where there was an overall stale smell of frying, clearly the kitchen needs a proper filter on its extractor fan system.
We recommend the In Wilder Mann hotel and restaurant in the centre of Soest. We had a hearty meal in comfortable surroundings with helpful and professional staff.

The Prodomo hotel is only suitable for an overnight if nothing else is available.
It needs a tidy up, a thorough clean, and the staff need training and smartening up.

We paid 69 euros for the room and breakfast and it was too much.

With a name like Prodomo you will expects something special, luxurious even. If that is the case, you will be very disappointed. The hotel is clean and in a good location, which is about it. It is sparsely furnished with a clean, if small, bathroom. The reason I went with this hotel was simply because the others were fully booked. My main gripe was that the whole time the advertised wifi was not working even though I paid for it. I mentioned this to the staff several times, but they were not at all helpful which was a bit frustrating. Beyond that the walls are very thin and if you're a light sleeper this may be a problem. Overall it was okay. Nothing remotely special unfortunately, but Soest is a charming town and if I had to I could stay there again.

Soest is a lovely place to break a journey throughGermany. A walled medieval town small enough to explore in half a day with beautiful churches and a great play park.

And this hotel made a great base for us. Double rooms cost just 45 Euros - we were travelling with out 8 & 6 year old so booked 2 rooms, expecting to have to share 1 adult & 1 child per room. As it turned out the hotel design means that every two rooms share their own private lobby, so for 90 Euros we essentially had a suite with a parents bedroom and a children's bedroom. Bliss after a couple of nights in "family rooms".

The hotel isn't luxurious but it's fine. The buffet breakfast was pretty good too. The worst thing is that there's no air conditioning - a real problem in hot summer weather. But I'd definitely stay here again from autumn through to late spring.

Very friendly hotel just opposite the Park and only 10 mons walk to the town centre.
Rooms in need of updating but clean staff very friendly. Only stayed one night but would stay again and an ideal base to explore Soest and the the surrounding area.

A nice little, affordable hotel just outside the village. Easy access to everything. Breakfast was so so, and staff helpful but not very cheerful.
