I have been to this restaurant several times and I have had great fun every time! The Greek owner, Dimitri is such a jovial guy that he makes you laugh your head off with his jokes every time. He also has a witty comment to anything you throw at him.
The people who work for him at the restaurant are also very interesting & colorful people. This time we met Fernando de Vito, who was originally from Argentina and had lived in Germany for 14 years. He was working by himself this evening and was managing the work superbly. It was totally entertaining talking to him in Spanish in an environment like Kehl where people either spoke French or German!
The food at the restaurant was fantastic. The prices were very fair. Nothing really went over 15 euros. I had a salad with lamb strips, which was very tasty and my friend had lamb chops, which was also great. I had a red wine called manuso (correct spelling??) from Greece and it was very good. We were in the backyard enjoying the cooler weather after a heat wave in that part of Germany when it started thundering & pouring! So we ran inside, lit up a candle and started enjoying the inside of the restaurant, which was actually nicer than the backyard. So we had to continue on to desserts. What we had was more like a warm pie with ice cream. We also received an alcoholic drink on the house made by the owner himself. It was a very round evening and we walked out with a promise to come back to enjoy dinner and dancing down in the little disco again.
I highly recommend the place to anyone who wants to let loose and have a great evening. Don’t be shy to start a conversation with the owner, who is a very funny guy. If you get him started, you will be entertained the whole evening!
