Three nights stay in a lovely big room with aircon. Bed comfortable. Bathroom well equipped and spotless. Everything was very well maintained and of a high standard. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a vast range of choice available. Car park was right next door. The hotel is situated on the main square so great for access to one of the best and most interesting small craft markets we have ever been to. Lots to do in the area.

The hotel is right in the centre of the old city, a great location. However, getting to it on this occasion was difficult as due to the heavy rainfall and floods, roads were blocked off. Eventually with help from the receptionist we found a way through. Our room had traditional decor and overlooked a roof garden. The bathroom was well equipped but it was disappointing that they didn’t provide tea and coffee making facilities. The Spa was very stylish and a delight to use. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night and had a lovely view out onto the cobbled market square. The food and service were both good.

Gothisches Haus is centrally located on the main square and within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants and a Harz Railway station. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. The wifi was excellent.

An absolutely lovely hotel in the middle of town. Just down the street from the Rathaus and main square and centered on the main shopping street of a charming town.

Lovely public spaces in the lobby and restaurant. Extremely friendly and courteous service with a helpful staff that has a better command of English than I do of German.

Well appointed rooms with modern European furnishings and amenities. You must remember to NOT compare rooms and features with the typical large and sometimes overwhelming American room - no big screen TV, no clock radio on the bedstand, no 23 pillows on the bed. But you know - still very comfortable and certainly cozier and warmer. And all that other stuff - not missed.

Small spa and fitness center - pool, whirlpool, three different saunas, each raising the temperature and sweat factor. Full service spa - just wish I had time to take advantage. Compact but well equipped fitness room.

I was part of a large international group attending the larger Hannover Industrial Fair, so among familiar faces and also new friends. Excellent breakfast buffet with more choices than I knew what to do with, wonderful dinner with the group after a long hard day at the fair.

Great staff - always smiling and ready to handle any request. And sensitive to the needs of an international guest whether from the US, Canada, Korea or China.

And in what is a great town - impressive castle on the hill. lovely main street, historic trains, nice parks, airplane museum. And near the Harz Mountains and The Brocken parks. Just wish I had the time to fully explore.

And a note - if you are planning on visiting the area and staying here or other hotels in town, just check to make sure it is not during one of the major trade fairs at the Hannover Messe Fairgrounds - even though far the hotels will fill up with guests from all over.

Room Tip: always go with a high floor

Saw a deal on this hotel (early in the season) so splurged for my visit to Wernigerode. After long days of hiking in the Harz Mountains, it was wonderful to come back to a truly first-class hotel. Comfortable, spacious, elegant with a great breakfast and all the amenities. No time to try the spa...
