The hotel is situated right in the town center making it convenient access to the local attractions. The hotel and the surrounding area were full of charm. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and updated. The breakfast was delicious and the options were vast with both hot and cold items. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in January 2017. The hotel's location is excellent(next to the Town Hall Square) for explore the city. Adjacent to the hotel - a large city parking. We had a spacious and clean room, good signal Wi - Fi. The only drawback - the room was cool. Breakfast is varied and rich. It is a good place for exploring Wernigerode.

A charming hotel, beautifully situated in the centre of this delightful town. A tip for people arriving by car: enter Klintgasse 5 in your satnav rather than the hotel's postal address in order to reach the hotel directly by car and the car park is then to the side of the hotel. We definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

We first went to Wernigerode 10 years ago (to ride on the marvellous steam railway in the town) and we stayed at this hotel. We've since been back 3 times and it still is great. The rooms have always been clean, comfortable and well-maintained, with all 'Mod Cons'. Perhaps they are a little dated in their décor but it certainly reflects the way this hotel is established and its ambiance. If ultra-modern, with clear colours, stainless steel and bare concrete finishes is your 'thing', the Gothisches Haus is not for you, but if you are OK with a hotel that is 'comfortable' with occasional suggestions of chintz, alongside Germanic overtones (which, perhaps, is no bad thing in Germany!), then give this hotel a try. Its restaurant is excellent and its bar well-stocked, with a large, extremely comfortable associated lounge area. When we first visited this hotel, very few of the staff could speak English (and my German is rudimentary, to say the least!) so communication was somewhat difficult. Now the language situation has changed completely and English is all you need! We have always found the staff very friendly, obliging and helpful and this, together with this hotel's brilliant location, makes staying here an absolute no-brainer' from my perspective. It's not the cheapest hotel in town but I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

(As an aside, our recent stay was to visit the Wernigerode Christmas Market, one of Germany's Top 10, which was perfectly located almost just outside the hotel's front door. What a great trip! Made all the better by this lovely hotel! Thanks, guys!)

Been in the hotel for 1 night. First to find the hotel by your car navigation is a nightmare. Its not the fault of the hotel but they can advise their customers. Wellness is very nice and free to use. After a nice meal in the city we wanted to go for a drink in the bar but this ended up not so nice cause of misunderstanding between bar keeper and us...Breakfast is one of the best we ever had. Really everything is available till 10.30. Also 10.30 as ending time is nice for people who like to sleep a little longer. The temperature in the room was quite high and we couldnt get it down by opening a big window. The pillows for us were a disaster and caused a bad night sleep. We found this later in the night so not possible to complain about it anymore. All by all a for us was this hotel not worth the price.
