I stayed at Rheintal-Jugendherberge for a week-long youth conference.
The hotel is situated on top of a cliff, which is something people arriving by train should prepare for. Climbing up with your luggage isn't exactly fun, and if you want to eat out or get food from the local supermarket, you'll have to climb down and then up all over again. The good side of the altitude is the stunning view over the meandering Main and the vineyard and villages along it. Although it was early spring when I was there, the views were impressive.
The pool and the conference room are nice and fairly modern and the rooms are spacious. The only awkward thing was, that the shower was not in a separate room, but just straight at the room door. It didn't bother me, but if you're modest and sharing your room with strangers, it might might be more of a problem.
One of my favourite things were the exercise opportunities. There was a nice, warm pool to swim in, and little roads to jog along, accompanied by panoramic views. The food was okay, but nothing too special.
Overall, I had a great stay and was very pleased with the hostel.
