“tasty food in a simple setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We dropped by late on a Friday night after a long drive, it's located near the boat dock and under the Hotel Schiffmeister (though I'm not sure if there is an internal staircase/connection to the hotel for customer use!).

We ordered two schnitzels - one pork and one chicken, they were served with fries and salad. Our meals arrived quickly, they were well seasoned, freshly cooked and were generously in size.

There is an outdoor dining/seating area at the front of the restaurant that overlooks the lake, but by the time we had arrived it was dark and raining.
The atmosphere inside was a little low-key and the decor is simple; there were a few other couples in the restaurant and some of the boat crews/captains were at the bar for a few beers, however this didn't distract from what was a hearty, tasty meal.

“The best fish I ever tasted”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

The local special fish: Lake Troud - See-Forellen. Best stile to my favour is Müllerin-Stile, just baked brisky and with melted butter.
Insist that your Forelle will never touch a dust of garlic. It spoils the fantastic natural flavour of the fish, and might give it a taste of old salmon. (There must have been tourists demanding exactly that, otherwise why did they introduce such alien ways of preparing this local delicacy) ?
