We had planned a stop in Ingolstadt, not for the Audi Museum, but for the shopping outlet village that locates there. But it was an opportunity to also visit the Audi, so we got there.
The place is very interesting, and especially the Audi fans will love it. You can see almost all Audi models, of every time and every type. Staff will inform you about everything you want to know. There is a cafeteria in, where you can have a snack or a drink. There are also two stores, where you can get gifts and clothes. Many prospectus, opportunities for test drive etc.
Highlight, was the delivery area of the new cars ordered, to their buyers!
A happy and memorable visit, if you have a couple of hours to spent in the area...

My husband and I have owened four Audis between the two of us, so when I knew I'd be on a business trip in Switzerland, I knew I had to make Germany and Ingostadt in particular a stop on my trip. My parents and I did a day trip to Audi from Munich, and I had arranged a factory tour for us. The tour was impressive - about two hours, lots of walking, but very well organized and shows you the assembly line, start to finish, for an A3. We had been on the Porsche tour in Stuttgart two days prior and while overall I probably enjoyed it more (and the museum is much more impressive), the Audi facility was very nice, our tour was great and the museum was interesting, although not as expansive. The Audi store was great - since my husband couldn't accompany us, I had a lot to choose from as far as gifts for him. The cafe was also very nice - we grabbed a quick snack before heading back to Munich. There is a charge for both the tour and museum, but it is reasonble given the cost of other attractions in the region. Fun to see where some of my Audis came from....
