My wife and I just stayed at this nice hotel and after a difficult start to our vacation with lost luggage (British Airways), the hotel's manager, Michael, made us feel very welcome...even allowing the airline to contact him after hours if our luggage was found. Our entire experience there was excellent...room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable. The breakfast was great, with plenty of variety. I can't imagine there being a better hotel value in Bingen.

The walk to the river and Rhine cruise launch point is 10 minutes as is the train station and many restaurants. Great location.

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel during our next visit to the Rhine valley. Thanks again Michael for the great hospitality!

Room Tip: 2nd floor room, back of the hotel, was very quiet

We asked for a quiet room as the hotel is on the road (though not a particularly busy one) and were given 210 at the back which was very quiet and very large, almost a suite as the bathroom was a separate room off a private corridor which is great if your partner takes longer than you to get ready and wakes up earlier!
There was a good range of choices for breakfast and we were able to leave our bags after checking out whilst we took a river cruise. Local wine is on sale at a good price but unfortunately only by the bottle so we declined. There's also a cafe/cake shop which looked delicious but we didn't have time for it. There's no restaurant but a very good Italian is a couple of minutes walk to the right of the hotel, or it's about 15 minutes walk into town (and also to the boat piers).
Like much of the Rhine, a railway runs through Bingen along the river and is used by frequent, massive goods trains. Be wary of any hotel boasting a river view as it's likely to have a railway view first - and those trains are far from quiet. This is not a problem at the Romerhof.

Room Tip: 210 is great or any other at the back if you're concerned about traffic noise.

What a wonderful little gem! Walking distance to restaurants and cafés lining the banks of the Rhine, a super-friendly and accomodating staff, great breakfast buffet. Weekends provide free parking space just across the street. Easy to find if driving and just up the hill from the train station.

Our room was decorated in a very personal non-corporate style just like it might be if you were staying in a friend's guest bedroom. Never been in a hotel with pink towels--what a nice and unique touch!

Room Tip: Why spend more to stay on the Rhine when this gem is just up the hill?

We came here during our bicycle trip from the Netherlands to Switzerland and had a nice stay at this hotel. The young guy at the reception seemed to run the place on his own, which is probably not the case, but however, I was fascinated by his good humour and quick way of working. The interior of the hotel is quite old fashioned and our room wasn't too fancy with its tiny bathroom. But nevertheless we kind of liked our stay. Best thing of all: the breakfast. Not so much because of the quantity of choice but because of the quality, variety, and speciality. Superb!

We had booked a reservation but upon our arrival were told that our room had water damage. They had instead booked us a room at a cheaper hotel in the area "just a short walk away." It was not a short walk with luggage (at least 20 minutes) and the replacement hotel was nothing I would ever have booked myself! It was not comparable. It was old and run down with sections roped off. We were sorely disappointed as the Roemerhof had a much nicer appearance. At 9pm we were too tired to argue or look elsewhere. I wouldn't book here again.

Room Tip: Make sure it's available. Maybe if you call and talk to them before arrival. They knew we would be late.
