I liked everything from the quiet area, nice rooms, great food, beautiful beer garden next to the lake and great service from everyone. Stefan, one of the desk clerks, has always done what he could to make our stays enjoyable.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in the latter half of May 2010. We chose this hotel at the last minute as it was located on a lake and it was fairly close to Munich (we had to take a train leaving Munich in the morning). The room (100 Euros) was large with a private bathroom and a balcony but with oldish furniture and a very plain decor - smelled musty. There was a large free parking lot just next to the hotel. In the lobby there was a free internet terminal. The breakfast (5 Euros) was offered in another building (by the lake) - it was a great buffet. This building also has a restaurant and caters to parties (there was an anniversary party that evening). What disappointed us was that there was absolutely nothing going on in the area. We walked around a bit but it was completely residential (impossible to have views of the lake as you're walking around the different streets) and there were no other restaurants, shops, etc in the vicinity of the hotel. The place was completely dead. So we headed by car to the town of Starnberg (about 10 minutes away) and we were then able to walk around, have an apératif by the lake, have a look at the shops, etc. So basically, an average hotel in a very isolated location.

We arrived in Munich early in the morning, and wanted to stay someplace close and interesting. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. Delicious dinner in the restaurant, comfortable room, and beautiful location. Highly recommend.

Rooms were large and clean; no clock in room. Had to ask for more soap and then only received one tiny bar. Day staff at reception desk was helpful; night staff not so great. Restaurant was great with a gorgeous view of the lake.

Great stay! Great service, friendly staff. Hotel has a huge own parkinglot and a private beacharea (only for guests. Rooms are very spacious with a balcony. The hotel has 2 parts: the recent building (with forrestview, or with a view at the parkinglot), the old hotel across the parking has lakeview, and breakfastroom is there with a lakeview as well, and ajoining terrace.. The breakfastbuffet is gigantic in choice and very delicious. Near the desk is a PC which can be used by guests. We stayed there only for 1 night as I wanted to pay a visit to the Votivkapelle, a monument for king Ludwig II. The ship for the Starnberger See styarts next to the old hotel.
